When we get back to Beacon hills we go straight to the animal clinic. Derek's laying down in the back seat with his head on my lap and I get out the car gently not wanting to wake him up.

It's raining and we quickly rush into the clinic with Scott carrying Derek on his shoulder. We lay him down on the table gently in the operating room.

"Wow" Deaton says

"Wow as in I've seen this before and I known exactly what to do kind of wow because that the kind of wow we're hoping for" Stiles says

"I think you might be over estimating my abilities" Deaton says

I look at Derek whose eyes are shut and I gently grab his hand that is ice cold by the way.

"He's freezing" I say "and by freezing I mean he's practically hypothermic"

Deaton grabs Derek's arm as well and feels it.

"Do you think this is permanent?" Scott asks Deaton

"I'm not sure a medical diagnosis is even etiquette" Deaton says after looking in Derek's eyes with a flashlight "this is well beyond my experience"

"So what do we now?"

"Until he wakes up probably not much. It might be best to leave him with me" Deaton says and I look at Derek "he'll be safe here"

"You mean from Kate"

"If she's alive and she is what you say she is. She won't be able to walk past that gate" Deaton tells us

"Why would she want to do this to him?" Lydia asks

"Knowing Kate it's probably a reason that won't be good for anyone but her" Deaton says

"And bad for everyone else"

"You guys should probably go home. He doesn't look to be in any danger" Deaton tells us "so maybe the rest of you should get some sleep, it is a school night. You all need to start takin care of your own lives again"

"Someone should stay with you" Scott says

"I'll stay" Lydia volunteers "My grades are fine, Despite missing a few classes"

"I am so not okay with this" Stiles says

"Guys go" Lydia says

"No"

"I can't leave him and besides my grades are fine too" I say to Scott but he shakes him head, no

"Text us if anything happens" Scott says

"Nope still not okay with it. Not going anywhere" Stiles says but Scott drags him out

"Please call me if he wakes up" I ask Lydia and she nods with a sympathetic smile and I follow Scott and Stiles out the door

When me and Scott get home we try to be as silent as we can because we don't want to wake my dad.

I close the door behind me and walk to the living room but Scott trips on some tools and makes a loud noise causing my dad who is asleep on the couch to wake up.

"Scott, Jailee?" My dad says and I see him get up

"Hey dad" I say and look down at Scott who is crouched down on the floor

"What's with the tools?" Scott asks getting up

"I was just getting started on a bunch of repairs you guys need done" My dad says and walks closer to us "what time is it?"
