she stood among their friends, watching from the crowd as he danced with another.

that used to be her standing up there with him, living their dream of creating, and changing the world.

the girl was beautiful, don't get her wrong, the new girl was also every single thing she wasn't.

she had every single thing she had failed to give the boy.

maybe if she wasn't as difficult, or if she wasn't as much a burden, they could have lasted longer.

it was a messy breakup, the three s's if you will; silence, shouting, and sobbing.

they had just moved in together not even weeks prior, when she sat him down on the couch of their shared apartment,

she had tried explaining to him what she felt, that she did love him, but she felt as if something was missing,

like they were missing a spark.

him, being totally and utterly in love with the girl, was of course shocked and upset,

not wanting to lose the one person who understood every reason behind why he did what he did, the one person who understood him more than he did himself.

but there was no stopping her,

her mind had been made.

so now she sits in a crowd, in a place she's no longer familiar with.

she's not familiar with the place, the people that intake it, or the love that was spread within.

he was the one who taught her to love, to better herself, and cherish what she had,

to cherish what they had.

she believed herself when she told herself she was doing the right thing in removing herself from his life,

that she needed to work on herself in order to truly love him.

but now she regrets it,

sean now danced with another, cherished another, loved another.

she was no longer relevant in his life,

how relevant would the one who broke your heart be to you?

so she sat.

she sat and watched as he loved upon the beautiful girl, one who treated him fairly, one who treated him nicely, as he was meant to be.

they cherished one another like any other.

meanwhile, kaycee continued to sit at the back of the crowd, drink in hand, trying to relieve her broken heart of it's emptiness.

one day the emptiness in her heart would be filled with love,

the pain would fade away with the thought of his dimples,

with the thought of his laugh,

the thought of his smile,

and even the thought of the brown eyes she fell in love with when she was sixteen.

that pain would fade away with the thought of him, and only him.

so like... im not sad, but i'll see writing prompts that are sad and like those so i write it, even if it's the best day of my life. im weird i know:) also this one's really short! im sorry!-shay
