In the morning...
Nilu was down with high fever. After tests it was diagnosed a severe infection due to her jaunt at the Railway Station perhaps.... Byom was obviously besides himself... Doctors were consulted one of them was the Dr. Naik an old colleague of Biren. When he saw all the reports of Nilu and then Biren and Byom's prescription he just mildly suggested that they might get unexpected results because of the steroids combination. It was prescribed by Byom... and Biren approved.
In a few days...
Mrinu: Aap meri baat maniye na, jaise bhi ho mere bachchon ki shadi isi hafte karaiye aur phir hum sab chalenge videsh, dekhti hu main koun se Yamraaj mere Bukku ki khushiya uski maa ke samne se chhin lejate hai.
Biren: Puchchu Shona, tum aise pareshaan ho jaogi toh un dono ko kon sambhalega... Dekh toh rahi ho Nilu maa ki halat baithne tak ki himmat nahi woh shadi ki rasme kaise nibhayegi....
Byom: Baba... Mimi theek kehti hai...mujhe bhi Nilu se jald se jald shadi karni hai. Main aur nahi ruk sakta. Use agar mujhe rokna hai toh kis balbute pe rokunga. Koi rishta hi agar nahi ho toh. Mujhse shadi ho jayegi toh phir mujhe chhodke jane ke bare mein sochegi toh tange tod dunga uski. Pagal kar diya hai mujhe. Na kha parahi hai, na bukhar se sambhal hi paa rahi hai. Itni kamzor hogayi hai ke muh se awaaz bhi nahi nikalti... Aise kab tak chal payegi Mimi?...
Mrinu: Main keh rahi hu chhota sa anushthan karke bas sindur daan aur saath phere karwana hai.. Aap dekhiye mere bahu ban jayegi toh kaan khichke bolungi jaldi theek hoja varna bohot pitungi tujhe....
In Nilu's room..
Byom: Gungun ek baat batao toh, shadi mein kounse rang ki banarasi lau? Meri Putul ke liye sabse khubsurat saree launga tum dekhna...
Nilu: Aapko jo rang mujhpe achha lage wohi laiye. Main wohi pehenungi, par main pehen paungi tab na? Agar usse pehle hi chali gayi toh mujhe pehnake jalaiyega... aur jaise Durga ki maang bhar diya tha waise hi bhar dijiyega... aur isse badi koi cheez nahi mere liye ke main jab jaun toh aapki banke jau...aapke naam ke sath maru.
Byom couldn't take it and walked out of the room and then came back with the whole family and servants....
Byom: Nilu aaj tumhe main unlogo ke samne apna sab kuchh sopta hu jo mere liye har bhagwaan se bade hai... Aaj se tum meri patni hui...
Mrinu covered Nilu's head with new Saree, Biren held her up with his body support, Tupak walked in with a Hawan Kund... Pupli blew the conch shell and the servants threw flowers and akshat at them... Bhutoo watched it all from the doorway and barked a few times... At last after the kanyadaan which Biren did, Sindoor daan, Saptapadi... A servant rushed in with two huge varmalas and another with MIshti and Mishti doi. No mantra was needed but the whole family one by one came up with their own rituals...
Biren : Aaj se meri Nilu maa meri beti hogayi toh tujhe jab gussa hoke maike janaa ho tu mujhe batana... main aur tu humare Daak bunglow mein jake khub maze karenge....
Mrinu: Mera toh sab laad khatam, meri pehli PutraVadhu ghar aayi hai, ab jaldi theek ho jao aur apna ghar aur yeh sara parivaar sambhalo... Mujhe ab apne pote potio se fursat nahi hogi...samjhi...
Nilu just bowed her head down and smiled shyly while her eyes teared up.
Tupak: Bas mera toh kaam asaan hogaya... apni Bhabi ko ghumaane ke bahane kitni nayi ladkiyo ko impress kar lunga... Bhabi Dadamuni ka pocket lamba kaatna.... Roz aap mujhe nayi nayi sari mein chahiye. Aapki na honewali devraniyo pe achha roab padega...
Pupli: Haa, aur ab mujhe permanently chhutti mil jayegi kya pehenu iss sawal se. Ab har din Nilu bhabi batayegi ke main kya pehenu...
Servants all of them came with something aur else... small gifts and lots of bleesing..."Aaj se Jalsaghar ko Boumuni milgayi, ab humari Rani Maa ka bhi koi uttaradhikari aagayi, iss baar humare dalan ghar mein Kumartuli ki sabse badi Durga Protima hum layenge... iss baar Jalsaghar ki Durga Puja sab dekhenge... humari Boumuni ki pehli Durga Puja hogi"
Everyone blessed the new couple and then proceeded to tidy up and decorate Byom's room. When the room was ready... Byom picked up a well groomed Nilu in his arms to take her in his room....
Byom: Aaj se tumhe meri sari agya manni padegi, ab main tumhara Pati parmeshwar hu...
(Nilu smiled nodded and then hid her face in his chest..) Sabse pehle mujhe chhodke kahi nahi jaogi, yehi meri agya hai...Daak bunglow bhi nahi Baba ke saath. Jab jana ho mujhe batana main hi leke jaunga ...
Aur meri patni ab mujhse ek pal ke liye bhi alag nahi hogi, mera khana tum hi banaogi, kapde kya pehnunga, kounsi perfume lagaunga, kousi gadi se jaunga.... Aise sab kaam tum karogi. Isliye jaldi theek ho jao na Nilu. please.
Nilu: Aapne jis maan se meri maang bhari hai, ab toh bhagwaan bhi bolenge toh bhi unki nahi sun paungi.
Byom: (he kissed her again and again all over her face, her tiny hands... ) Main jeena nahi chahta tumhare bina...Tum samajh gayi na main kya keh raha hu...
Bolo samjhi Chhote Raja.. Bas tum Bolo...
Nilu: Samjhi Chhote Raja
And Byom relaxed in her arms.... More exhausted than her somehow.
