Chapter 10: "BIG BOY MATTIA"

The school day was kind slow, but thankfully it's now over...

"You ready to go?" Mattia says, sitting on the desktop.

"Yea, just let me say bye to Bri real quick" I say, zipping up my bag.

We walk over to the benches in the front of the school...

"Hey, Bri"

"Oh hey" she said, turning around, eyeing Mattia...

"Umm I just wanted to let you know I'm not gonna be home til' later... I'm studying with him again.." I say, pointing at Mattia.

"Okay?" She says in a slightly different tone.

I just wave goodbye as we begin to walk away. That was weird...

As we get in Mattia's car, he hands me the aux.

"Go ahead. Kairi told me you have some good taste in music"

Hmm.. they talk about me?

I grab the aux, plug it into my phone and play whatever I had at the top of my playlist.

Mattia turns down the music..

"Hey, are you hungry?"

"Kind of, are you?" I ask.

"Yea, always. I know a great place we could stop at"

I nod my head yes and then turn back up the music.

Before I know it, we're pulling into a parking lot of a small burger place..
We go in and take a seat.

"It's nice in here" I say, scooting into the booth.

"Yea, I come here with the boys a lot. They have some bomb burgers here." He replies, taking his sweater off and setting it on the side of him.

"BIG BOY MATTIA!!" We hear someone with a familiar voice shout out.

"Hey, man" he replies.

It was the boys, Kairi, Alejandro, Roshaun, Alvaro, Robert and Pinto.

"Oh hey, y/n. Didn't see you there." Kairi says, sliding into the booth, as well as the rest of the guys.

"Well, here I am" I say, sliding over to make more room and smiling at him.

We all take our orders and talk.

As we all basically finish up, I realize the time.

"Umm, Mattia... should we work on the project another day? It's kinda getting late..."

"Yea, sorry about that, let me drive you home." He replies, signaling the guys to let us out.

As we start heading out, I see Bri walking in with Chris. I guess she didn't see me because she went straight to Mattia.

"Y/n, you ready?" He asks, pulling me out of my thoughts.

I just nod my head and wave goodbye to everyone, saving Bri for last.

"Are you going home?" She asks

"Yea, I am. Are you?"

"In a bit... I'll see you there" she says, smiling at me.

Guess we're back to normal again...

"Why did Kairi call you "Big boy Mattia" I ask, giggling a little.

"Oh, it's a joke. I made a video, and now that's what a lot of people call me" he says, pulling into my driveway.

"A video?"

"Yea, I'm sorta big on this 'TikTok' app... " he replies.
I nod my head, unsure of what to say.

"Anyways, sorry about today. I know I said we'd work on the project, I just didn't know the guys were gonna be there"

"It's okay, really. It was fun." I say, walking up to my front door with him.

"Did you wanna try tomorrow?"

"Okay," I say smiling, just as I unlock the door.

"Great. I'll give us a ride again. Only this time to my house" he says, chuckling. I nod and giggle a little.

I hug him goodbye, and go into my house, heading up to my room.

Today turned out okay, I'm just lost on why Bri was acting the way she was.. maybe I'm just over thinking it...
