Author's Note: I appreciate all the feedback from those who gave me their opinions on James, but I also want you guys to know that my story is pre-written, so everything's thought out and put in order already. Anyways, back to the story.

At the house..

James and I were currently hanging out, movies with snacks in the living room.

He asked if I wanted to smoke and I agreed.

He's been calmer, less aggressive.

-15 minutes later-

We were faded. Sitting on my rooftop with music playing in the background.

"So," James begins to ask. "Why'd you move over here?"

"Parents kicked me out."

"Oh. Sorry."

"It's fine, I don't really mind not living with them."

"No, y/n. I mean sorry. For everything." He says, turning towards me.

"W-what do you mean?"

"For the way I've been. This doesn't make it right, but I hope you know that I'm sorry for me not being able to keep myself in a stable state."

I sit there for a couple of minutes, thinking.

"James. It's not okay, but I understand. You lost a big piece of you heart when your parents passed away-"

"I know. And acting this way towards you, or anyone for that matter, isn't fair. It's just, you were one of the closest people to me and I was scared that I would lose you and the rest of my family, too."

I looked at him.

"James.." I'm cut off by him looking into the night sky.

"I can't do this anymore."

"What do you mean, 'I can't do this anymore'"

He begins to cry. "I just- I don't think I deserve to live. All those horrible things I did.."

I hug him, still partially scared, but felt like it was needed, no matter how bad the person.

He just cried into my shoulder. "James," I begin..

He looks up at me.

"Why don't we start over?" I ask.

"What do you mean?"

"Like, start fresh." I say, fully turning my body towards him. "Hi, I'm y/n."

He looks at me for a second, but shakes the hand I held out. "I'm James."

The rest of the night, we tried to have a new beginning.

"It's getting kinda late.." I said, yawning.

"Yeah, I think Imma head home."

"Okay. Want me to-"

"Y/n, I mean, home. As in, Los Angeles, with Dom."

I look at him. He hasn't been back to that house since the accident..

"Well, then.. you're for sure going back? I mean it's been a while.."

"Yeah. I'm going back. I need to better myself. Y/n, I'm truly sorry."

"James, we're starting fresh, remember? Anyways, when are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow at 7."

"Oh, maybe I can go-"

"No, it's okay. I'll see you around."

He hugs me, grabs his sweater, and leaves.

What the.

-Next Day-

I wake up from a million missed calls from Kai.
——————————————————————————
                     Phone call: Kai (BESTIE) 💙
Kai: Hello

Y/n: Hey, Kai. Whats up?

Kai: The whole group is hanging out at Ale's, you coming?

Y/n: Oh, umm yea. What time?

Kai: Pinto and Robert are gonna pick up lunch and bring it, so like.. around 1?

Y/n: Okay, yea. I'll see you guys there.

Kai: Okay, we'll see you and James at the house then-

Y/n: Actually, it's just gonna be me. I'll tell you about it later; See you in a bit.

-time lapse to 12pm-

I hop in the shower for a good 15 minutes.

When I get out, I blow dry my hair, straighten it, and then get started on my makeup.

As I'm jamming to music, a notification pops up on my phone.
——————————————————————————
                           New Message: James
James: Hey, you told me to message you when I got home, so here it is.

Y/n: Okay, great. Is someone picking you up?

James: Yea, I see Dom right now actually..

Y/n: Oh, okay. Well, good luck. Don't be a complete stranger..
——————————————————————————

I finish my makeup, grab my keys, and head for the door.

"Y/n!" I hear Bri shout from the top of the stairs.

I turn around and look up at her, "Yeah?"

"Let's go to the mall tomorrow.. we haven't had just us time in a while.."

"Sounds great, see you later!"

I close and lock the front door, then get in my car.

I connect my phone to the Bluetooth, and turn the volume all the way up, driving over to Ale's.
