Tobin's POV

I wonder why Jill needs to see me.

"Tobin come in." Jill says when she opens the door.

"Is everything okay?" I ask.

Jill points to the bed in her room so I walk further into her room.

"Jordyn?" I question and look wide eyed at the person on one of the beds in Jill's room

"Toby" Jordyn, my cousin, says then she jumps up and hugs me.

Why is she here?

Wait...

"Please tell me it didn't happen again."

My cousin doesn't answer which gives me the answer. 

Shit

"Can she stay with me?" I ask Jill.

"Of course. She can stay as long as she likes." Jill says.

I thank her then text Christen.

Me: Hey can you leave the room for a while? I'll explain at lunch.

Christen: Sure. Is everything okay?

Me: I don't think so

Jordyn and I then head to my room with her stuff and lay on the bed in silence.

"I didn't know where else to go." Jordyn says while her head is on my chest.

"It's okay. As long as you're safe I don't care."

"I broke up with her."

"Did she do it again?"

"She was going to, but I told her I wanted to break up so she took her apartment key from me then let me get my stuff and I left after that."

"Well you can stay with me as long as you like."

"Thanks Toby."

"Of course...lunch is going to start soon do you want to go."

"Are your friends going to be there?"

"Yes they will be, but so will the whole team."

"Okay...I'll bring my notepad and stuff." Jordyn says and grabs her backpack

The two of us head down to the meal room and we are the first two there so we get our food then sit down. We eat in silence for a couple minutes then the door opens and the team comes in. Jordyn keeps her head down so nobody can see her face.

"Hey I need to get a drink do you want something?" I ask.

Jordyn holds up three fingers making a W so I know she wants water so I get up to get our drinks.

"Tobin is that..." Christen goes to say and I nod.

"Yeah" I say then grab our drinks and head back to the table. "Here ya go"

"Thanks Toby." Jordyn says and takes the water.

Jordyn and Christen are the only ones I allow to call me Toby.

Christen, Alex, Ali, Ash, and Kelley come and sit at the table and Jordyn stiffens.

"Hey it's okay they won't hurt you." I whisper in her ear and squeeze her hand.

Jordyn gets out her notepad and writes 'who are they?'

Jordyn is selectively mute until she can trust you. She also has memory issues so if she hasn't seen someone in a little bit she won't remember them. She hasn't seen most of the team in 2-3 years because she has a very controlling and abusive now ex-girlfriend.

"Christen, Alex, Ali, Ash, and Kelley."

"Can I do the thing?" Jordyn writes.

I look up and see everyone at the table looking at us as is the whole team.

"Um can Jordyn do the thing?" I ask the table.

"Of course." Christen says and the others nod.

"Start with the girl next to me." I whisper to Jordyn.

Jordyn nods then gets up and Christen turns in her chair to face Jordyn. Jordyn holds her hands out and waits for Christen.

"Go ahead." Christen says and Jordyn closes her eyes and gently puts her hands on my girlfriend's face and feels her face.

Jordyn does this because whenever she trusts someone she will ask them if she can remember their face. She will then close her eyes and feel their face to memorize their features while repeating their name. I don't know how or why it works, but it does.

After a couple seconds Jordyn smiles and opens her eyes. "Hi Christen."

"Hi Jordyn" Christen says as Jordyn hugs her.

Jordyn then does the other girls at the table and leaves Alex for last. Jordyn places her hands in front of Alex and Alex gives the go ahead so Jordyn places her hand's on Alex's face. Jordyn starts with Alex's nose and when she runs a finger over it she recoils and covers her head.

"Hey it's not her. It's okay come here." I say and hold may hands over hers. "Close your eyes Jordyn"

Jordyn does and I move her hands to Alex's jaw and run her hands over Alex's jawline. Jordyn immediately relaxes and smiles.

"Alex" She says and opens her eyes.

"Hi Jordyn." Alex says then Jordyn and I sit down.

"So how are you Jordyn?" Ash asks.

"I'm okay."

"How's YouTube and that stuff going?" Ali asks.

"YouTube's good. I have 25 million subscribers now" Jordyn says.

"Thats awesome."

"Yeah...I got to do a collection with Pretty Little Things and it did so well that they want to me to do another one."

"Wow"

"And then I haven't been able to cook anything because of...yeah."

Fuck that bitch that hurt my cousin.

"Hi Jordyn." Kling says as she comes over.

Jordyn looks confused.

"Can she do the thing?" I ask.

"Of course."

I look at Jordyn and nod so she puts her hands in front of Kling's face and shuts her eyes. Kling then walks forward and allows Jordyn to do her thing.

"Klingy" Jordyn says.

Kling hugs Jordyn then goes and gets her drink as Jordyn sits down.

"Toby." Jordyn whispers.

"Yeah?"

"Did Ash and Ali get engaged?" Jordyn asks and point at Ali's ring.

"Yes they did." I say and Jordyn nods then looks at the newly engaged couple.

"Congratulations Ash and Ali."

"Thanks Jordyn." Ali says with a big smile.

Jordyn nods then she pulls out her sketch pad and starts sketching new designs for clothing. Everyone at the table starts talking except for Jordyn and I. Jordyn is focused on her sketches and eating while I'm just eating my food and looking at Jordyn making sure she's okay.

After everyone has eaten Jordyn stops sketching and looks over a design.

"Stuck Jordyn?" I ask.

"Yeah. I don't know if people would wear this." Jordyn says.

"Wear what?" Ali asks.

"Wear this." Jordyn says then shows the table her design.

"I would." Christen says and a couple of the girls nod.

"If all your designs are that good I'll need to go buy some." Ali says.

"You don't need to do that. I can just get you whatever you want." Jordyn says.

"Alright ladies get your stuff and load up for training."
