I closed my front door, watching as Michael walked back to his car before turning to face my Dad, who had a concerned look on his face. He wasn't angry with me, he never was. He was just worried, and it was my fault. I went out, and I forgot to tell him where I was going, and he hated when I did that.

"I didn't know you would be out so late, bud."

"Yeah, dad. Sorry, we um, we just lost track of time."

He nodded, crossing his arms.

"So, this Michael boy. You said he's in your class?"

"Yes. Quite a few of them actually. He was the first friend I made."

"But he's not your friend anymore? He's something more?"

My dad was so nosy. But I couldn't blame him, he was just looking out for me.

"Yeah", I blushed. "Since tonight, as in like five minutes ago, actually. He asked me to be his boyfriend. I said yes."

He sighed, walking closer to me.

"And he's nice?"

"He's nice to me."

"He can drive?"

I chuckled. "Yes, Dad, that's why he has a car."

"Did you have fun tonight?"

I grinned. "So much."

"Well, me and your mother would love to meet him properly. Invite him round for dinner one of the nights next week, okay?"

I squealed, giving him a hug. "Thanks, Dad."

I squeezed him before running upstairs.

"I want lights off in thirty!", he called.

"Love you, goodnight!"

"I love you too, kiddo."

I grinned, scurrying to my bedroom.

Michael

I pulled up to my driveway, parking my car. I really hoped my Dad wasn't awake. But of course, he was. I unlocked the front door and closed it quickly wanting to just go to my bedroom and sleep, but he was in the living room and saw me.

"Michael."

I ignored him, walking up the stairs.

"Michael", he repeated. "Where were you?"

I huffed, stopping on one of the steps as I turned to him.

"I was out."

"Out doing what?"

"I was just with my friend, okay?"

"Okay. That's okay but-"

"Dad-"

"That's okay, Michael", he interrupted, stepping forward. "But I'd be much happier if you told me you were gonna be out late. I was calling you."
