Y/n walked down the stairs with a yawn, already changed in her everyday clothes. Everyone was already downstairs and eating breakfast by the time she arrived in the dining room, meaning she was the last one to wake up. She sat down on the seat Fred had saved for her next to himself.

''Morning, love,'' Fred said as he pressed a kiss to the side of her head.

''Morning,'' Y/n managed to say with her mouth full.

''Where'd your manners go?'' George laughed.

''They're on a holiday,'' Y/n said as she swallowed her food. Not too long after the twins got up, Fred giving her another peck on her head. She turned to them with a questioning look and cheeks stuffed with food, watching them as they excused themselves and walked out of the dining room.

''See you later, love,'' Fred had called before he followed his twin, confusing Y/n furthermore.

The twins locked their room, picking up their wands and putting on their coats. They looked at each other, nodded and apparated. Diagon Alley wasn't as packed as Fred had expected it to be. He nudged George, beckoning him to go faster as a pack of Hogwarts students were making their way in their direction. They entered a small shop and sought out a worker.

Y/n knocked on the door and waited for a response, though there was none. She knocked again, just to receive the same result. ''Fred? George?'' Y/n called, but no one answered. She twisted the doorknob, only to find the door locked. ''What the hell?''

Bringing her wand out she whispered, ''Alohomora.'' The door clicked and Y/n twisted the knob again, opening the door with expectations of seeing the twins doing something stupid. That was not the case, though, seeing as none of them were in the room. She looked around, trying to spot a note, but there was none. What she did notice, though, was that their coats were gone.

They snuck out, she put two and two together. Where had they gone? Why haven't they told her? Why didn't they take her with them? Multiple questions of the sort ran through her head as she exited the room.

''Colloportus,'' she chanted as she pointed her wand towards the door, hearing the click that indicated it was now locked. Making her way towards her shared room with Ginny and Hermione, she couldn't help but think about how the twins had went without her, getting mad over the fact.

The twins apparated back in their room, quickly removing their coats and putting them away so it wouldn't seem like they'd gone out. Fred took out the present from his pocked and quickly hid it in his trunk, whilst George unlocked the door.

Seconds later said door flew open, startling the twins. Y/n slammed the door behind herself, turning to face the two. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, tapping her foot on the floor. ''How did you-''

''Where have you been?'' Y/n asked, cutting George off.

''Diagon Alley,'' Fred answered truthfully.

''What the hell were you two doing in Diagon Alley?'' she asked, rising an eyebrow.

''We had to buy some things,'' Fred told her.

''What things?'' she demanded.

''Things,'' Fred said. ''It's not important.''

''Well if it's not important, why not tell me?''

''Because-''

''Kids! Dinner is ready!'' Molly called, Fred silently thanking her for saving him from the situation. Y/n sent them both an annoyed look before walking out of the room and heading to the dining room.

''What's she so pissed about?'' asked George as the two walked out of the room as well. ''Because we didn't tell her?''

''Knowing her, it's probably because we didn't take her with us,'' Fred said. ''She has her moments, I'm sure she'll calm down soon.''

Fred sat down next to Y/n on the dinner table, though she didn't seem to acknowledge his presence. He placed a hand on her thigh, trying to get her attention, but she didn't budge, still talking with Hermione, who was sitting in front of her. He rubbed his thumb in circles, causing her to shudder slightly. Her hand touched his, lifting it so she can hold it. Even though she was annoyed, she couldn't help but want some type of contact. That did bring a smile to Fred's face.

Fred woke up the next morning, reaching out to wrap an arm around Y/n, only to find the bed empty. He remembered Y/n hadn't slept there last night and sighed. Sitting up in his bed he looked around, seeing George still asleep.

He ruffled his hair as he stood up, going to grab a shirt and pants, when he noticed the small box in his trunk, the realization hitting him like a truck. ''George,'' Fred called as he picked up his pillow, throwing it at his brother. ''Wake up, mate, it's Christmas!''

George rose up, his hair a mess and looking disoriented. ''Oh, yeah,'' he said before laying back down, letting out a snore. Fred rolled his eyes and picked up the only present he still had to bring down – Y/n's. He nudged George one more time before leaving the room and heading to Y/n's.

Y/n was leaving her room, still in her pajamas. Fred picked her up, throwing her over his shoulder as he entered her room, locking the door behind himself. Fortunately for him Ginny and Hermione were gone, otherwise it would've been awkward.

''Fred, what the heck?'' Y/n asked as she hit his back. ''Put me down!''

''What's with you and cursing so much lately,'' Fred said, still holding onto her. ''You have such a potty mouth.''

''I curse at you and George because you annoy me!'' Y/n called. ''Now, put me down!''

Fred laughed and put her down on the bed, causing her to bounce slightly when she hit the mattress. He sat down next to her, grabbing her hands in his.

''What's up?'' Y/n asked, noticing the serious look on his face. Fred reached in his pocket and brought out the box, causing Y/n to let out a gasp. ''Fred, are you-''

He shook his head with a smile. ''No, not yet,'' he said as he opened the box. ''It's a promise ring. Promising I'll always stay by your side, no matter what.''

A smile broke on Y/n's face as she took the ring, examining it. ''It's beautiful, Freddie,'' she said, then looked up at him. ''Thank you.''

''No problem, love,'' Fred said as he put the ring on her pointer finger, admiring it. Y/n lifted his chin and placed her lips on his, giving him a long and passionate kiss.

''Merry Christmas, Freddie,'' Y/n said when they broke off, wrapping him in a tight hug.

''Merry Christmas, love.''
