"Unfortunately, there are those who did not pass the final exams. Accordingly, for the training camp in the woods, everyone's going."  Kage simply ignored everyone as she stared out the window her mind on auto pilot, slowly slipping from reality.

The ruby haired female was brought out of her trance as the sound of a certain pinkette's voice entered her ears.

"Why doesn't all of class A go shopping together?!"  A sigh passed her lips as she stared down at the book on her desk, returning to reading it like earlier before she slipped into a trance.

"What about you? will you come Todoroki?"

"I go visit my mom on our days off." Shoto and Kage made eye contact before a familiar black haired female blocked Kage's vision.

"Will you be joining us Nakamura?" Momo asked. Kage closed her book and placed it inside her bag, before looking at Momo and shaking her head.

"I usually spend our days off training or spending the time with my father." A disappointed look crossed her face before she smiled at her.

"Oh okay then!"

"Kage!" Said female took a seat in front on her father's desk.

"Hello dad." The mouse-bear-dog creature smiled at her.

"So, I heard you've been warming up to your classmates. That's great!" Kage mumbled something under her breath, that Nezu didn't catch.

"What was that dear?" She looked away and down at the floor the one gray eye you are usually able to see now hidden under her ruby hair.

"It doesn't matter if I warm up to them or not. Once they know everything about me. About my past. They'll want nothing to do with me..." The sorrow in her voice was heard, causing her mouse-like father's smile to drop. His beady eyes watched her as she continued to stare at the floor, avoiding meeting his eyes.

"Kage? What do you think of these kids? I want your honest opinion." The question ran through her head, her fists clenched. Her father sighed as he began to pour himself a cup of tea.

"They're strong...." He stopped, looking up at his adopted daughter.

"They would make... No they will make great heroes. And all they've been doing is trying to get me to warm up to them...." A dagger was now in her hands, having summoned it with her quirk summon. She twirled the red and black dagger between her middle and index fingers.

"But. I always push them away. And I know they're getting sick of it, so after the USJ attack I wanted to try harder creating bonds. My only I guess friend has accepted me but only because we share similar pasts and...." She paused once again, finally realising something. Nezu smiled as he realized what was going through his ruby haired daughter's head.

"I'm scared. I'm scared dad. After spending twelve years going through so much.... I'm scared!" Nezu was watching his daughter with careful beady eyes. Soon grey iris met his and he sighed after seeing his daughter's grey watery eyes. Her hair now moved to show the scar on the right side of her face.

Nezu nodded before climbing off his chair and walking over to her. He climbed onto the table by her chair and wrapped his paws around the female. She tensed before slowly relaxing and returning the hug.

"I've said this before Kage. And I'll say it again. If they can't accept your past then they don't deserve to be in your future. You're allowed to be scared Kage. A hero gets scared. You just have to show it wrong. Dear don't let your past get you down, don't let it define who you are." Tears finally streamed down her face as her emotionless facade broke.

She was scared.

Scared she'll never be accepted.

Scared she'll lose everyone.

Scared she'll let her down.

Scared.

"Mommy can I be hero? Even though I'm scared?"

"Sweety. Everyone gets scared sometimes. But you have to learn to fight. Show it that you won't let it get to you."

"Mommy? Are you scared?"

"Yeah, I am Kage. But I will always fight off that fear for you dear. So what do you say? Let's fight that fear together, yeah?"

"Yeah!"

"There we go! That's my little warrior!"
