I'm kind of disappointed in the number of votes the last chapter received, but let's just hope there would be more in this one.

The girls and I are having a long vacation so care to share some great stories on Wattpad to me?

Chapter 10: The Green Monster

Alison

Jealousy was an ugly emotion. It's this ugly green monster lurking around to find a person to strike at. It wasn't an emotion I'm familiar with, but I would definitely recognize it if it ever strike me. As I rested under the tree, watching Jason playing in the waters with Sapphire, the thought of throwing a beach ball at her head ran through my head.

     "I hate her."

--

     (Earlier that morning)

"Jay, chew softly. You're getting food everywhere!" John complained. He retrieved a napkin from the kitchen counter and handed it to Jay. Jay rolled his eyes and wiped away the crumbs on his cheek and mouth. "So what shall we do today, Alison?" John looked at me with a bright smile.

"Well, do you guys want to stay indoors or go outdoors?" Jamie and Matt were already walking around the beach. I didn't know when did they left, but I bet it was some time around six. Jamie wasn't there when I woke up at six thirty. Jay and Neil announced that they were going to join Jamie and Matt on the beach, so they left almost in an instant, leaving John, Jason and I alone at the dining area. The adults went to get some groceries so we had the whole house to ourselves.

"I'm thinking of going out too. What do you think?" Jason raised an eyebrow at me, waiting for my response. I had to admit, staying indoors for the whole summer sounded pretty boring to me. It was a lovely day and the others were probably splashing water at each by now.

"Alright, let's go. I'm going to read my Hunger Games book at some shade place." I told him as the both of us went upstairs to get a change of clothes. I traded my clothes for my turquoise bikini. I wasn't those type of girls who loved showing skin so I slipped on one of Jason's white shirts. It looked over sized on me, but at least it covered enough skin for me to look decent.

While waiting for him to finish putting on sunscreen, I sat on his bed thinking about us. What were we? Even though we had proposed a truce and decided to stop hating each other, I couldn't help but feel that we could no longer have that closeness that we had years ago. Even if we called each other best friends, I couldn't help but feel that we weren't. There was something different. Plus with me crushing on him, he was definitely not a 'best friend' to me. But the question was what was I to him? Did he thought of me as a 'friend', 'best friend' or...a 'close friend'?

"Allie?" Jason's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked at him with confusion for a few seconds before remembering what we were going to do. "Let's go! Got your book with you?" He asked me. I nodded, showing him that my books were tucked right under my arm.

The minute we stepped outside of the beach house, Jason stretched and went to join the others and a few teenagers on the beach playing beach volleyball. I decided to not play this year. After the incident of me twisting my ankle, I didn't feel like going near any beach volleyball games this year. Craddling my books with both my hands, I went to sit under a tree.
