Within the trees (Slenderman x reader)

Chapter 23

(Y/n) looked at the melee weapons she could work with, noting that all were made out of or thin plastic. She assumed that Slenderman didn't want his proxies get too hurt. Things like wooden swords and plastic boomwhackers filled the area, presumably made for variety so the proxies can work with many weapons.

Kate chose a small, plastic hunting knife. Though at the insignificant weapon, (Y/n) didn't underestimate her opponent. Kate was surely trained, not only with weapons but hand to hand combat. Besides one must never underestimate their opponent, for if they do something surprising might come by in a flash.

Although (Y/n) knew for a fact she was gonna lose. This was her after all, despite her critically thinking brain, she clearly couldn't survive stretching let alone a trained serial killer. Despite putting herself down she was still gonna try, she wont go down without a fight. Who knows maybe Kate underestimates her and she'll come back like in one of those cliche fighting movies.

Since she's going with a small weapon I should too. Instead of slow swinging around something big I can use something small for speed. (Y/n) picked up a small plastic knife. Suddenly she felt a pointed pressure on her back.

"You lost Miss (L/n)." Slenderman spoke as he walked over to the girls.

"Huh- wait-" the female looked behind her to see Kate had put a knife to her back while she wasn't looking, "that's no fair I wasn't ready!"

"You won't always be "ready" when your prey Miss (L/n), you must become the hunter and take every opportunity give to you. You waited to long thinking, combat can happen at any moment. In this case combat starts when both opponents pick up a weapon." Slenderman said in a smug tone. The female grew annoy at him and his cocky tone. (Don't you dare.)

She spoke up, "well technically I haven't lost until I'm dead. In this case I wouldn't be dead yet!"

The female quickly turned around, Kate jumped back at the sudden movement. Slenderman however was surprised at this sudden change in attitude, she was right after all: if this were a real situation she wouldn't be dead yet. Sure her life would be threatened, but this wasn't a gun to her head. She could easily retaliate, it was a sloppy move on Kate's part.

Kate got to confident, because of that (Y/n) got the upper hand on that part. Slenderman thought as he moved back to give the females more room.

Slenderman observed (Y/n) as she fought Kate, eyeing her every movement so he could see where she would need to improve. Her movements were slightly sloppy, but he could tell she had taken some self defense classes. It was a nice basic place to start, nothing to crazy.

Kate managed to knock the knife out of her hand, leaving the female more vulnerable. However the female attempted to punch the trained killer. Kate quickly counter acted with a shoulder check, knocking the (brunette, blond, etc.) off her feet and onto her butt. Kate this time got on top of the female and pretended to slice her neck, putting only a little pressure on the plastic blade.

The (e/c) eyed trainee huffed in disappointment. This was clearly not a cliche fight movie where she would be the underdog who magically wins.

Slenderman clapped as Kate got off the slightly upset female, "good job Kate, but you can't underestimate your opponent. No matter how under trained they are, adrenaline is quite the body made drug."

Kate held out her hand to help (Y/n) off of the dirt. Though wary, (Y/n) took it and got up off the ground.

"(Y/n) your fairly sloppy, I can tell you haven't done any sort of self defense in a while." Slenderman pointed out.

The female flushed red in embarrassment that she had been caught red handed. It was true she hadn't in quite a while, same with the stretching.

Curse my past self for choosing to binge watch shows all day and not keeping up with my exercises. She thought glaring at Slenderman with her flushed face.

"You know, if you glare hard enough you might be able to kill me." Slenderman smugly joked.

Can't say you don't deserve it. She thought knowing Slenderman is most likely listening. 

He chuckled, "all right you two, continuewith melee while I go check up on the other. Make sure you use different weapons to gain some variety and Kate," Kate perked up a bit more hearing her name, "help Miss (L/n)."

Slenderman walked off towards Masky Hoodie in the range. The female grumbled under her breath as she went o er to the weapons and picked up a boomwhacker, she readied herself. Kate also picked up a boomwhacker and the two started to go at each other, Kate taking it easy on her.

Mean while Slenderman went over to Masky and Hoodie, as he watched them both use a pistol with a silencer on them.

"Sir." Masky grunted.

Slenderman looked over at the feminine masked fellow in acknowledge.

Masky continued, "may I ask you something?"

"Of course." Slenderman answered, knowing that if Masky asked something, it troubled him or really confused him.

"Why her, she's not exactly "gift" athletically. It's just more time you have to help her train. Kind of a waste of time and resources." Masky said.

Slenderman would have put a smile on his face if he had one, "there is more to a person  then just athletics Masky. She is very observant, I wont have to help her train too much in that regard. Besides, she has peaked my interest for some reason. I'm sure that there's a good reason for that."

Masky smirked under his monochrome mask, "you like her?"

"Pardon?" Slenderman seem caught a bit off guard by the question.

Masky looked a Slenderman, not shooting the pistol as Hoodie continued while ease dropping.

"You like her, in a romantic sense. Don't lie to me, you show way more emotion to her then to any of us. Like talkin' all smug and shit, you don't normally do that." Masky said, clearly knowing. Possibly even before Slenderman himself knows.

Slenderman looked back at the female, as Kate helped her with learn how to swing the boomwhacker "pipe" correctly. He hadn't really thought about it before.

He hummed and shrugged, "possibly."

(Hey guys, I'm back! Hopefully none of you saw I accidentally published it a bit early.

It's fine though, sorry I was gone for a good while. For those of you that don't know I was working on a big project for school. It was a children's book, that I had to sketch, outline, color, and write all by my self. It ended up being 20 pages long.

Took me forever but I did it! Of you guys want to see it for some reason just ask and maybe I'll post it somewhere on here.)
