*Bri POV *

After debating on which tshirt to wear, I grabbed my guns and roses tshirt and high waist shorts, slipping on my black high top converse as i threw my hair in a bun. I grabbed my purse, walking down stairs to get Tris.

"Come on, let's goooo."

We jumped in my car, driving to the carnival which took a good 45 minutes.

We walked towards the beach, hearing the music, people on rides, and everyone laughing and talking amongst each other. We bought our wrist bands, walking into the carnival (or fair, whatever you wanna call it) and I sent straight to the food booths. I bought a funnel cake and Tristyn got cotton candy, walking to a small picnic table so we can eat.

"Hey Bri.. Who's that guy over there?"

"What?"

I turned around and saw a guy with light brown curly hair, two guys behind him. They saw me looking at them and they turned around, acting like they were talking about some booth. I got up, walking to the boys as they turned when they saw me approaching them.

"So what are yall starring at?"

"You just look familiar."

I noticed the strong Australian accent, reminding me of Luke's.

"Hmm, well obviously you aren't from here so where are you from?"

"Sydney, Australia. We came here to visit a friend of ours."

"Oh really? Does he live around here, because I might know him."

"Yeah, his name is Luke Hemmings."

"Luke?"

"Yup, you know him?"

"Yeah.. He is one of my best friends."

"Oh shit lads, our boy got friend zoned."

"Not really."

"And how is it not?"

"Considering we fucked plenty of times and he was seeing another girl anyway."

"So you're Bri?"

"Yeah..?"

"We have heard about you. Luke is in love with you, I swear, but you are dating some douche model guy."

I rolled my eyes, Tristyn finally coming by my side as she looked at the boy in front of me and me.

"That's not true."

"That's not what we have heard."

"How would you even know that? He hasn't talked to you guys in years."

"He talks to his mom like once every two months so we just ask her what he is up to."

"Why are you guys even here? If he had ignored you for this long then there's a good chance he doesn't want to see you."

Before he could reply, Tristyn pulled me away from them, and the guy I was talking to just laughed at me like I was child getting in trouble with her mom. I turned my head, flipping them off as we kept walking. Tristyn pulled us behind a shop, looking at me dead in the eyes.

"Bri, you have to contain yourself sometimes."

"I didn't even do anything that bad."

"I know you were about to so I pulled you away, and don't act like I didn't notice you flipping them off."

I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes, getting a little irritated with her acting like my mom.

"You aren't my mother tristyn, I don't need you pulling me away from stuff and telling me to 'contain myself'."

"Well you do, you have to get your shit together and stop acting like a child."

"Oh shut up, I wasn't the one sleeping on another boy when I have a boyfriend."

"Seriously? You are always over him."

"I used to, but since Cameron is back I'm not. I look after him and hang out with him because he is like my best friend and he has no one else."

"Cameron was your best friend too."

"That's different."

"Oh yeah, you and Cameron started off as actual friends and not fuck buddies."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"You have turned into a whore, Briana. You are a bad influence on a lot of people."

"I am not a whore. I'm a girl who is trying to find herself because she was drugged, kidnapped, almost raped, almost shot, cheated on, and without a dad. So I'm sorry if I don't have the perfect life and career that you do. But for now, fuck you for insulting me. You can go back with the boys and syd, I don't want you staying at my house."

I let out a deep breath, turning around and walking away. I let my hair fall out of my bun and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it and started to smoke. A few parents looked at me and pulled their children's away, but I didn't care. There wasn't a "no smoke" sign anywhere. I walked through all the people, walking out of the carnival and onto the beach. I kept walking, deciding I'll get my car later. I pulled myself up onto a rock, finishing off my cig as i saw a figure walking down the beach. He was tall and broad, black everything and smoking a cigarette. I can see his toned face and dark brown hair due to the lights from the carnival. He looked around and saw me, making me freeze. It was Drew....

"Oh hey Briana."

"Um, hey."

"Why are you not in the carnival?"

"Wasn't really feeling it, but it is getting pretty late so I better head back."

I hopped off the rock, picking up my bag as I started to walk away. I heard his footsteps and he grabbed my arm to try to stop me, making me scream and rip my arm away as I felt his touch. My eyes were wide since I didn't expect to react like that, my hands shaking as my chest started to ache since I was having difficulty breathing correctly.

"D-don't touch me."

"Briana, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

"......... Really? Are you serious? Fuck you, I'm going home."

I ran away from him and towards my car, getting into the drivers seat as i locked my doors. I started the car, seeing his future start to emerge from the dark and to the parking lot as he saw my car. I pulled out and started to speed home, not worrying about going over the speed limit.

I swear I can never get a break.
