And... We're off!

Isabel's POV:

Stepping out of that bathroom was probably the most nerve-wrecking thing I have ever done.

Every step I took closer to the group near the door made my heart beat faster than it already was.

As soon as my footsteps were heard on the wooden floors, all eyes turned on me. I gave a small wave and suddenly found the ground extremely fascinating.

"Ready to go?" Jonah asked.

"Yep" I said, popping the 'p'.

Nobody made a move to leave, so the 7 of us were just standing around, not making eye contact, and waiting for SOMEONE to say something.

Out of the blue Isabella starts laughing hysterically. Apparently she found this situation extremely amusing.

Shortly after, the rosy cheeked boy joins her in laughter.

I don't know why, but if someone is laughing, it's so contagious to me. I'm never able to control myself.

You better believe that I tried my hardest not to laugh, to the point where my clenched jaw started to hurt. I was trying to keep things civilized. Key word TRYING. But I caved as soon as Daniel burst out laughing.

Not long after, all of us were in fits of laughter. Many of us had our hands clutching our stomach or tears in our eyes from laughing so much.

Isabella finally contained herself, thank goodness, and started trying to apologize for making this a laughing fest.

"I-I'm- so. I'm so sorry.." As soon as she said sorry, her and the rosy cheeked guy made eye contact, and burst out laughing again. So much for her containing herself.

"Isabella! Get yourself together, and get back to work!" Her coworker called from behind the counter.

"Cabron." I heard her mutter under her breath. (Dumbass/bastard in Spanish).

"Isabella!" I scolded her.

"What! It's true!" She said putting her hands up in defense. I just shook my head at her.

"Well, apparently Mr.Douchebag," she says looking at me as if saying 'is that better', "wants me to get back to work even though there are NO CUSTOMERS AROUND, WHATSOEVER." Yelling the last part to get her coworker to hear. He just rolled his eyes and went back to cleaning the counters.

"Hopefully we can hang out sometime, in a more entertaining environment." She said looking at the boys.

"Yeah! I'm Zach by the way" The rosy cheeked boy said putting his hand out.

"I'm Isabella." Isabella said, shaking her hand and blushing furiously.

I smirked at her. And she looked at me as if to say 'Don't you dare say anything'. So, being the good friend I am, I kept my mouth shut.

"Can we go now? I'm supposed to go see Lavender in an hour." Jack said impatiently.

By the way his eyes lit up at the name, I assumed he was talking about his girlfriend.

"Are you ready to go?" Daniel asked, making eye contact with me.

"Yup." I said popping the 'p'.

"Alright, let's go then people!" Jonah exclaimed, pushing the boys out the door.

I turned to Isabella, wrapping my arms around her.

"I swear, if something goes wrong, or if I embarrass myself too much, I will personally blame YOU." I whisper, pulling away and grinning with a raised eyebrow. She just rolls her eyes at me.

"WHAT. EVER. You will be fine, cry baby."

I laughed. But then all the fears came over me again.

No. I can do this. Don't let it control your life.

I guess Isabella sensed my anxiety. Because she pulled me in for another bone crushing hug.

"You got this." She said holding my arms.

I nodded, trying to make myself believe that statement.

"NOW GO!" She yelled, pushing me towards the door.

I took a deep breath opening the door, and trading goodbyes with Isabella.

Once I was out the door, I looked up realizing the boys were waiting for me. Crap.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to take that long. It's just-"

"Hey, calm down. It's fine really. We weren't waiting that long." Daniel reassured me.

I just nodded in response.

Heading to a nearby parking lot, I notice a large black passenger van that we seemed to be walking towards. Once we were getting closer to the van, Zach and Jack start full on sprinting towards the vehicle. One look between the other boys, and I knew what was going to happen.

Now let me tell you. I am competitive.

Very, competitive.

It felt like everything was in slow motion. As soon as the other three boys looked at each other I started running.

I heard some 'hey!"s coming from the boys behind me. I just started laughing.

I'm a pretty fast runner, so it was pretty easy to catch up with Zach and Jack. Jack looked at me surprised, and I think I caught him off guard because he slowed down slightly. Zach looked at me and smirked running faster. No way I was going to let him go that easy. I put my heart in it and ran faster, passing Zach slightly, and touching the van before everyone else.

"I WON!" I yelled, as the boys were still running to the van.

Zach came in second, Jack third, Jonah fourth, Corbyn fifth, and Daniel last.

"How. Are you. So. Fast?" Corbyn said, out of breath.

"I know right?"

"How?" The boys all chimed in.

Reality hit me. Did I just race 5 guys I JUST met?

I shrugged as heat rose to my face in a matter of seconds.

I really don't know what came over me. Maybe the adrenaline of the moment? My competitiveness? I'm not sure. All I know was that it was the most fun I had had in a really long time.
