3rd person POV:
Isabel had rarely done scary things, but there were some especially scary moments that she would never want to redo. Like going on a rollercoaster when she was younger, that dropped so fast she thought she was going to die.
But this was by far, the most unbearable and most frightening moment of her life.
As she sat next to Gabbie who was driving her truck, all she could think about were all the things that could go wrong in the next few hours. As they drove to the Why Don't We house, the only sound heard in the car were the soft snores of Lavender, who was sound asleep in her car seat. The flight from Florida to California really wore the little girl out.
Isabel's knee bounced nervously up and down as she stared out the window, squinting slightly at the brightness of the sun. This nervous habit Isabel had, did not go unnoticed by Gabbie.
"Isabel, everything is going to be fine." Gabbie said quietly. Isabel just nodded, trying not to burst into tears as she held in all the fears that were running around in her mind.
"Honestly Isabel, what's the worst thing that could happen?" Gabbie asks, turning to look at Isabel as she stopped at a red light.
Isabel gave Gabbie a look that said 'Really?'.
"Okay fine, don't answer that. But I really don't see why you're so worried. I'm sure Daniel is going to be stoked to see you." Gabbie said sweetly.
"I think it will be exactly the opposite." Isabel whispered. If he had gone all the way to Florida just to give her a note and not see her, he probably didn't want to see her now, right?

But what Isabel didn't know, is that Daniel was just scared.
Nowadays, he would only get maybe 3 hours of sleep a day, or none at all. That's how it had been since Isabel left, and he thought that it would be like that forever. He could never get Isabel off his mind.
What made everything worse was the fact that it was his fault. Everything was his fault. But what choice did he have? Save his friends, or save a relationship that he so badly wanted. He couldn't have it both ways.
And because he cared about his friends and Isabel so much, he had decided that the best choice was to be in a fake relationship for the sake of his band's survival.
But as he lay in his bed staring at the ceiling that evening, he wasn't so sure that he had made the best decision now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the car, Isabel had no idea what she was going to do or say when she saw Daniel.
Part of her wanted to run up and hug him when they met again. But the other half of her knew that wasn't gonna happen.
She felt nauseous and a bit dizzy. And yet through the chaos in her entire nervous system, she was hopeful.
Hopeful that maybe this would all be resolved soon. Hopeful that just maybe, Daniel had a reason for his actions. Hopeful that her life would soon go back to normal. Hopeful in the thought of not feeling on edge all the time. And having a small, very small hope, that if this whole fiasco got resolved, maybe, just maybe, she and Daniel could continue the relationship that she dreamed of everyday.
But that was just a hope. And Isabel knew that 'reality' was just as much of a biatch as Jess was.
Isabel's train of thought was cut off by Gabbie driving up into the driveway of the house that Isabel so dearly missed.
"Hey, we are all here to support you, alright? Kelly would be so proud of you for doing this." Gabbie said sweetly as she rubbed Isabel's arm softly.
"You're right." Isabel said shakily, rubbing her hands on her black leggings.
"Come on." Gabbie said, smiling.
Gabbie had such a motherly care to her, that it was hard not to listen or be happy when she spoke. So Isabel gave a small smile as she stepped out of the truck.
She started towards the back of the truck to start getting the luggage, but Gabbie stopped her.
"No no." Gabbie ushered to Isabel as she took a groggy but awake Lavender out of her car seat. "I'll get some of the boys to grab our bags. You. You know what you have to do." She insisted, giving a reassuring smile.
As she followed Gabbie to the front door, the pit in her stomach grew. And her breathing grew a bit shallow.
"I'm home!" Gabbie announced as she, Lavender, and Isabel went inside and closed the door behind them.
They were greeted by 4 guys running up to them and 2 overly-excited girls, who brought them all into a group hug.
"I missed this." Isabel breathed out as her friends hugged her so hard that she could barely breathe.
"Us too." Lottie replied for the entire group.
Although none of them said it, there was a sort of acknowledgement that Isabel wasn't just here to say hi and visit. So when they all separated, Corbyn was the first to gesture towards the stairs, and Isabel nodded.
As she ascended up the stairs, she looked back once to see everyone staring at her and giving thumbs up. She chuckled lightly at their enthusiasm, even though she was so afraid she thought she might faint.
As she made her way towards Daniel's room, her heart rate quickened, and she thought anyone within a 5 foot radius could hear it pounding out of her chest. She brought a shaky hand to knock on his room door, and her heart physically stopped as she waited for a response.
Isabel was a bit taken back when the only response she got was a disgruntled "Go away."
Nonetheless, the nervous girl took a breath. Ignored her rapidly beating heart. And turned the doorknob, stepping into the messy room.
The room looked very different from the last time she had been there. It was no longer organized and clean, but now it looked like a hurricane had come through the room.
Random articles of clothing in different places. Papers and notes all over the desk and dresser, some even laying on the ground. And the room didn't exactly smell like roses anymore.
The only light in the room came from a small lamp next to Daniel's unmade bed. The lighting just happened to showcase his long, uncut, messy hair, and exposed torso, which made the action of breathing a little more difficult for Isabel.
He was sitting up slightly, while leaning on some pillows with his eyes closed. Almost like he was trying to sleep, but couldn't, or didn't want to.
"I said go away, didn't I?" He asked annoyed, not caring to open his eyes. At this point Isabel decided that because she was already there, there was no point in bailing from the situation. So she got some courage and decided to say something. She was really only doing it to see what his reaction would be when he realized it was her. Would he jump up? Ignore her? Maybe even be so surprised that he would scream?
There was only one way for her to find out.
"Well that's no way to talk to a lady, is it?" Isabel questioned, as she crossed her arms, trying to act like she was not falling apart at the sight of him.
As soon as the first few words fell from her lips Daniel's eyes snapped open, and he sat up abruptly. His now greyish-blue eyes fell on Isabel, slowly scanning over her, making Isabel shift nervously where she was standing.
He couldn't believe she was actually there. That it was actually the girl who was in his dreams all the time. Standing in the doorway of his bedroom.
So all he could manage to say, or ask, was a small and quiet, "Isabel?"
