3rd person POV:

"Which one?" Issa asks Kelly, holding up a black shirt long sleeve with a knot in the front, and a blush pink lace short sleeve shirt.

"Definitely the pink one. It's summer pumpkin. You're gonna die of heat in the other one." Kelly said, as she sat at the vanity in her room, applying mascara to her eyelashes.

"Got it." Issa said spinning on her heel, and going to her room to change into her outfit. Since it was a 'coffee date', she decided on a more casual outfit. A short sleeve lace pink shirt, ripped high-waisted denim jeans, and cream flats.

In the other room, Kelly had also gone casual, with a plain white shirt, a black lace bralette showing through the top, jean shorts, and light brown sandals.

After changing, both girls help each other with their hair. Kelly's ombre brown hair in two dutch braids, while Issa's dark hair was pinned back in a half up half down style.

"Are you nervous? Because I know I am." Issa said as she closed her eyes, allowing Kelly to apply light makeup to Issa's face.

"Mmmm..." Kelly thought for a second. "I don't think I'm nervous so much as excited." She said, brushing Issa's nose with highlighter.

"How are you not nervous! I'm probably gonna say something wrong or mess something up." Issa mumbled.

"Maybe I'm not nervous because I don't think like that. You shouldn't either. Instead of thinking 'I'm gonna screw this up' think 'I got this, and tonight is gonna be the best night ever'." Kelly says, and Issa just nods.

Trying to think about how she could make this night be the best, she thought about Kelly's word. Maybe she should try having a positive look. She was going to try and not think negatively this whole night. Yes. That's what she would do.

But there was a problem. You see, there were not many positive things that Issa had in her life. A lot of her life was filled with regret and sorrow. How was she supposed to put all that aside and focus on having a good time, when she could mess up one of the only good things she had in her life?

Kelly could see the confusion and struggle that was written all over Issa's face. She wished she could make Issa believe in herself as much as she believed in her. All she could do to help her, was give her wise words, and maybe that would help.

"Stop overthinking Issa. A wise person once said 'Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.' So don't make limitations Issa! You can change the world. Don't let anyone or anything stop you from that. The past is in the past, you can't keep living in it. Just learn from it. Because if you don't learn from it, you'll be stuck in it. And if you're stuck in the past, you can't enjoy your future."

Issa held back the tears that had formed in her eyes. Kelly was right. She needed to live and learn. The past had been holding her back. Scaring her. But it can't scare her if she is not living in it.

"Thanks Kelly." She sniffed.

"You're welcome pumpkin." Kelly said screwing the lid back on a foundation bottle. "Now stop being sad. Let's make this double date the best double date in history." She said smiling.

Isabel nodded smiling back. She didn't know where she would be if Kelly hadn't been there for her. Homeless? Afraid of everything? Dead? Isabel shook the negative thoughts from her mind.

What mattered is that Kelly was there. And she would always be there for her. And for that she was beyond grateful.

"Oh, Kelly?" Issa stopped Kelly as they were about to leave the apartment.

"What's up?"

"I just want to thank you. For everything. For always coming back when no else did. And for being the best friend anyone could ask for." Issa said smiling. Sure it was short. But she knew that if she had said anymore, both of them would be crying.

"Aww of course pumpkin!" She said sniffling and engulfing Isabel in a hug.

"Alright. Ready to go?" "I think so."

The pair then made their way to the Jeep. After a brief argument between the two, Kelly won the spot of the driver and Isabel sat in the passenger seat again.

"Oh! Pumpkin? Do you remember the photography position that I got an interview for? Well it got postponed for some reason, but they said I got the job!" Kelly said enthusiastically.

"No way! Kel that's awesome! You deserve that job." Issa said, proud of her best friend's accomplishment.

"Thank you! I still don't know who I'm working for, but I will meet them in two days. I'm super excited!" Kelly said.

"Yay! I'm so happy for you sis." Isabel replied, using the sisterly term.

Jamming out to music that was pouring out of the speakers, they stopped at a red light at a four way stop.

Lowering the speakers Kelly decided to tell Issa something that was weighing on her for some reason.

"You know I love you, right?" Kelly said. She didn't really know why, she just felt like she needed to make sure Issa knew.

"Are you kidding? Of course I do. And I love you too." Isabel answered, smiling.

As the red light turned green, Kelly slowly let go of the brake and started accelerating.

What she didn't see though, was the semi truck that had failed to stop at his red light at that intersection, and continued to barrel towards the jeep at a speed of about 50 miles an hour.

And because trucks don't stop easily, the truck driver knew what was about to happen, but Kelly didn't.

The last thing she heard was the truck's loud horn and Isabel's screech.

"KELLY LOOK OUT!"

But there was nothing any of them could do.

A/N:

Please don't kill me...

I want to point something out really quick. So quick disclaimer/spoiler, the next part in this story will revolve around this car accident. BUT I want to say I had already had this planned out and half written before the horrible accident that happened last week.

I really hope this doesn't come across as rude. Corey's death was very hard for me, so I'm not trying to be insensitive or inconsiderate. I know he is in a better place now. #blueforcorey

This idea for the story came to me a while back, because I have personally been affected by numerous car accidents, and I understand it's hard.

Please forgive me if this hurts you. Please don't hesitate to let me know.

Love you all!

P.S. Also, for the next... I don't know how many, but for the next few chapters, the POV will be in 3rd person. :)
