3rd person POV:
After about an hour of secrets and explanations falling from Daniel's lips, Isabel finally knew everything, and Daniel finally felt a sense of freedom.
Granted, there were some awkward moments.
Daniel telling everything about his fake relationship with Jess. Him going into detail of how he was basically forced to makeout with her for paparazzi. And Isabel just sitting there. Listening uncomfortably.
Isabel continually told herself she shouldn't be angry or jealous. After all, it wasn't really his fault. He was doing it to protect his friends. But there was a small part of her that just wanted to be mad at Daniel, and go find Jess to strangle her.
But as always, she kept it inside. Trying her hardest to not show her jealousy.
"That's it." Daniel says, taking in a shaky breath. He hadn't realized how much keeping that information in had hurt him. It was like he could finally breathe again.
But then he realized that if his manager knew he told someone, all hell would break loose.
"But you can't tell anyone else, okay?" He says eagerly. The walls that he had put down now starting to build back up.
"I'm not even gonna argue with you on this." She says, giving him a 'seriously' look.
"I'm serious Isabel. If he finds out I told you... I don't even wanna think about what's gonna happen." He says, rubbing his face, and getting up from the bed as he starts to pace around the room.
"Daniel, I know you're scared to-"
"I'm not scared." He scoffs.
"Yeah. Okay, tough guy." Isabel retaliates, saying tough guy in air quotes. Daniel stops pacing to look at her for a moment.
"OKAY. Maybe I am a little scared. But what am I supposed to do!" He says, opening out his arms with his palms to the ceiling.
"You're supposed to shut up and sit down, so I can think!" At this, Daniel shut himself up and sat back on the bed. But not without taking a glance at Issa, and looking at her as if she had just told him she was going to date Shawn Mendes instead of him.
"You... you've been hanging around Lottie and Isabella too much." Was all Daniel could say as he studied the girl he used to know.
"People can change a lot in 4 months." She sighed.
A silence, that was not quite comfortable, yet not entirely uncomfortable passed among them, as they sat side by side on the edge of the bed.
"Daniel, I just need you to trust me on this." Isabel said after some time.
"How? You left too ya know." He mumbled quietly, frustrated. And this time he wasn't playing around. Maybe he was being childish. But he felt like he had a little reason to be upset, right? He didn't really mean to say it out loud. But Isabel heard him. Isabel always heard him.
"Yeah, but who is here now?! Who knew something was wrong?! Daniel, I would have come back before. I would've! I had a gut feeling that something was completely off." Isabel started, as she practically jumped off the bed to face Daniel. "But I just couldn't bring myself to come and ask you, when at that time you seemed totally infatuated with a girl that I wanted to slap every time I saw her! Okay? Do you get it now?!" She practically screamed.
"That's what this is about? You didn't come see me because you were jealous?!" He shot back.
"No Daniel! I wasn't- wait... no!" She huffed. "And why are we yelling at each other?"
