Back to The Present (2018)

Vyom's Point of View

"Vyom Get ready for the puja of Sharanya's house. It will start from 12 o'clock of noon." Mom said from her room loudly.

"Ok mom." I answered back from my room. It was 9am now. I woke up from my sleep just one hour ago. Mom and Suman Aunty did puja for peace of home since 3 years after the accident, either in our house or their house. This time it was their turn.

I was being ready for the puja as mom was very strict in this case.

Typical Indian moms!

I took my jacket and phone and sat on my bed waiting for my parents to get ready completely.

My phone suddenly vibrated. I looked at the screen. Dr Odhni's number was showing on it. I picked up the phone feeling sudden uncertainties.

"Yes Aunty!" I responded to her.

"Vyom, can you meet me today? I need to tell you something very important..about Sharanya's case!" She said from the other side.

I got up from my position.

"Ok doctor, can I come now?" I asked coming near to the door.

"Sure! Come fast then. I have an appointment with my client after 2 hours." She replied.

"Ok. I am coming." I hung up the phone and came to my garage, took my bike. I drove in my usual speed.

What it could be?

"So, listen to me carefully from now on, Vyom." Doctor said to me with her serious face. I nodded my head with an agreement.

"Sharanya is hallucinating about her memories with Shiv." She stopped for a while looking at my face. My eyes became wider.

"What do you mean?" I was confused.

"Remember you told me about her going to Shiv's place? You thought it was just a coincidence that she went there and she was trying to make you meet with someone, but he didn't show up that day?" Odhni said fully focusing her eyes on me.

"Yeah...But I also told you that might be her unconscious mind was behind all of this. As that place was very special to her once." I was hell confused about this.

"You were partially right! But. There is something more." She stopped for a while then again continued.

"She is hallucinating. Her mind is hallucinating everything. Even, I am absolutely sure that the person whom she is talking about, is none other than her dead lover, Shiv Khanna." She stopped making me completely shocked.

"What.. but how?" My head started to spin after hearing this.

"Remember, I told you last time about her healing? Her healing process is actually done because of her hallucinations. In other words, her hallucinations about her dead lover are helping and supporting to overcome her mental trauma which has also caused for the dead of her lover. The void and missing parts of her mind which were because of his death are being filled by her hallucinations. She has healed totally now, Vyom. She can recover her memories anytime, very soon!" Odhni completed.
