Lucky I'm in love with my bestfriend 🎶

"Hi. Pasok kayo, nako. Ang tagal niyo namang dalawa." Ara sarcastically welcomed us. Natawa na lang ako. It's her birthday. May salo-salo dito sa kanila and we're late compared to our other batchmates. Nagkakatuwaan na sina Carl at Fred na laging nangunguna sa lahat ng mga kalokohan. Nagvivideoki na sila.

"Happy birthday dear. I love you." I kissed her cheeks and give her our gift to her. "Nagkaroon pa kami ng emergency meeting sa school, kakaout lang din nitong si Arc, galing silang field eh." Iningosan niya lang kami. Ang mga babae ay nasa sala pa nagkukwentuhan kaya't sa kanila ako sumali. After giving me my share of food, Arc goes outside and mingle with the boys too.

After a short chitchats, nagpasya kaming makisali na sa mga kalokohan ng boys sa labas. Wala na rin ang ibang bisita ni Ara kaya't nakasama na rin siya sa amin.

The girls eyed me teasingly.

"Engineer is really smitten by you ma'am." Nagtawanan naman ang mga boys ng marinig ang tinuran ni Ara. "Konti na lang at magtatampo na ako. Birthday ko ngayon pero di para sa akin ang kanta. Hys." Umakto pang nagtatampo si Ara.

Arc only grinned.

I just smiled at him when he glanced my way. Kinilig naman ang mga kasama namin.

"Carl! Kantahan mo nga rin ako! Nakakainggit sila!" Tili ni Ara. Siya itong pinakamaingay sa lahat.

Siguro nga ay talagang pinagtagpo kami ni Arc. We've been apart for multiple of times. I tried to cut all our connections but he always sails across the distance I've put up and reach out for me.

No matter how I sail across the wide ocean, Arc always make a way to make me come home. No matter how much I distance myself to them, he always come to me and convince me to come close again. I can still remember how he tried to reach out for me for the first time ever since I stop communicating with them.

Arc Fuentabella: Hi Ann :) malapit na ang homecoming, it will be your third time of ditching us if you won't be attending again.

I just opened his message but I replied to it later that night. Though I always give something for the homecoming, I've been the sponsor for our batch's cake during those events but I just give it through Lucy. In return, she gets my batch shirt.

Ann Dominique Cruz: Hi Arc. Thank you for inviting and sorry for ditching you guys. I can't come, sorry. Don't worry, I already asked Ara to represent me in the meeting for the batch's coordinators and the Alumni secretary promised to send me the details of the meeting. Si Ara na ang bahala sa pag mimeeting niyo, if ever na magkecatering kayo, I will be the one to contact the catering agency. That's the least I could help :)

Arc Fuentabella: Oh, okay Ann. Take care always. We miss you :(

After that, I ignored his message. I did not bother to reply again but seems to be that he is so persistent because everytime I go online, may message talaga siya sa akin. Minsan naman, he mentions me to random posts. One week muna bago ako nag online ulit.

He commented on a photo being uploaded by the ICHS Alumni Association. Maraming replies, mostly from our batchmates.

Arabella Fuentabella: Our Queen, Arc. Not just yours, haha.

Carl Fuentabella: Our beautiful Queen. We missed you :(

After reading the comments without replying to any of those, I opened the messages.

Arc Fuentabella: Hi Ann, Lucy is not able to get your shirt. I decided to get it for you. Pupunta nga pala kami ni mama sa Marawi next month, you know, we'll be visiting Belle. Mama wants to meet you too. Hope you can give her some time :)

Ann Dominique Cruz: Oh, thank you Arc. Just ask Belle to contact me next month. Send my regards to mama and papa ❤ mag-ingat kayong lahat diyan.

After that, I ignored his messages again. Kung nag-oopen ako, minsanan na lang. I opted to communicate through IG, di naman nahahalata ng mga kabatch ko dahil di ako lageng nagrereact sa mga posts nila. I just message my new classmates through it. Hanggang sa nagkita na kami ni Arc, di pa rin ako nagreply sa mga messages niya.

Nang magkita kami, naging sunod-sunod na yon. Lage na siya nakikipagvideo call kay Belle anytime we're together. Hanggang sa nanghingi na talaga siya ng number ko sa kapatid niya. That's the time he started courting me, when we were 3rd year college.

Slowly, I tried to open up to him again until we are back to being close.

From being friends, best of friends, enemies, friends again, best of friends again, strangers, friends again, best of friends again, and then now!
