Part of this oneshot was requested by @tavharte and @jileyforevertns but I put a bit of a spin on it to make it the continuation of the earlier oneshot One Moment. I suggest you read that one first, otherwise this won't make much sense. Enjoy and remember to leave requests for future oneshots and other couples to integrate into the book in the comments! xo

Ps: I might be experiencing a little bit (....okay, maybe a lot) of baby fever

James's POV

Riley straddles my lap, her arms wrapped around my neck as we made out. I was leaning against the headboard of my bed, my arms wrapped around her waist, groping her butt through her dance shorts. It's been 3 months since the day of our anniversary. We still haven't said anything to anyone about us. We also haven't talked to make anything official between us. However, Riley isn't seeing anyone else and I sure as hell am not, in my mind we've still been together for 4 years. Things are a bit different now then they were, obviously we aren't officially together and no one knows about us but on top of that we've also slept together numerous times whereas before we hadn't yet. Riley tells Emily she's helping me with my math, which she'd been doing before we slept together, so Emily doesn't suspect anything. Neither does anyone else. My parents don't even know anything because we make sure to meet up when they aren't home. I want our relationship to be as strong as it was, so I make sure we do other things than simply sleep together. We'll order food in, watch movies, cuddle. Sort of whatever Riley feels up to honestly, I'm just happy to have her back in my life. Riley moaned against my mouth as I pulled her closer to me. Her arms released my neck, her hands grabbing my cheeks. Then her hands slowly slipped down my body, undoing my jeans at a teasingly slow pace. Before Riley could pull the zipper of my jeans down, I heard the door to my bedroom creak open, followed by my mother's voice. "James, I nee-" Riley pulled away abruptly, snapping her head around to see my mom standing in the doorway, looking shocked. I reached between Riley and myself, quickly re-buttoning my pants as Riley swung herself off me, sitting beside me on the bed instead. She looked petrified. My mom was grappling for words, clearly surprised by what she'd stumbled in on. "Who is this?" She finally settled on asking.
"Mom, this is Riley....... My girlfriend." I told her. In my mind Riley was my girlfriend, so that's not exactly a lie. And even if Riley objected, I knew she wouldn't say anything in this moment. She would much rather have my mom believe she's my girlfriend than a whore, which she definitely is not.
"It's.... Nice to meet you." My mom stuttered.
"Like wise." Riley answered, her voice shaky. She tucked her hair behind her ear, looking at the mattress. "I should go." She announced, sliding off the bed and bending to grab her dance bag off the floor.
"I'm sorry for intruding." My mom said.
"Not at all. I had to leave anyways." Riley lied.
"Well, seeing as James and you are so close, I'd love to have you over for dinner. Get to know you better." Mom smiled. Riley bit her lip, looking back at me hesitantly. She was shy and nervous around my mom when they first met, but they grew to be really close. I'm certain that will happen again. Maybe with the uncertainty of where we are though, I'll try to postpone the dinner.
"That would be great mom, but Regionals are next week so we're a little busy at the moment." I told her, seeing Riley send me an appreciative smile.
"Oh you're right." Mom agreed. I sighed in relief, thinking we were in the clear. "Then how about when Regionals are done? You'll be on a break from dance and we really would love to have you over." Mom smiled at Riley. Riley faltered, taking a moment to take a breath and clear her throat.
"Sure. Sounds great." She replied, a fake smile plastered on her face.
"I look forward to it." Mom said as Riley walked around her, hurrying downstairs and out of the house.

We were waiting onstage to hear who won the final round of Regionals. Everyone was so nervous. I could see Riley shaking like a lead beside me. I wondered if that was all because of nerves though. She'd seemed off earlier, quieter, more timid. She could've just been nervous though. I wasn't worried. I already know we won. In fact, I know that we go on to win Nationals and Internationals. There's nothing for me to stress over. "The winner of this years Absolute Dance Regionals competition is........." I watched Riley grab Emily's hand, squeezing it tight. I inched my hand closer to hers, my fingertips brushing her palm. She quickly pulled her hand away, confusing me. "The Next Step!" Everyone screamed. Emily pulled Riley into a hug. I wanted to kiss Riley in celebration, but I knew I couldn't. I figured a hug would look innocent enough. However before I could pull her into my arms, she'd scurried away, hugging the other girls. I brushed it off, continuing to celebrate with my team. I couldn't help but watch Riley though. She celebrated with everyone. She hugged everyone, even Eldon and West. Everyone but me. In fact, she was doing everything she could to avoid me at all costs. And not just on stage, she came up with plenty of lame excuses to not come over after Regionals, or the day after that, or the day after that. She finally gave in when I said my mom wanted her over for that dinner she'd mentioned earlier, but that was 2 weeks after finals. I tried not to think about it, to tell myself that she was just worried us interacting might look suspicious, but I couldn't stop wondering why.
