Phana's POV

"I'll tell him you called, thanks for your concern," Yo said into the phone before ending the call and dropping the phone back onto the arm rest between us. I was just hoping to tease him, but it looks like my plan didn't go over very well. Yo is sitting stiffly in his seat and he isn't looking at me at all. After a few more minutes we arrived at the restaurant and I cleared my throat to get his attention.

"If you'd rather just go home, I won't mind. I'm sure she still has time to see you tonight," Yo said, indicating my phone with his hand.

"No! I'm hungry," I said quickly, feeling a little hurt. Does he actually think I want to spend time with that girl? I admit that I had plenty of experience with girls before, I was just having fun, but I've been waiting for my Wayo since I first saw him back in high school. I think back over my behavior since he came to the university and realize I haven't helped to improve his impression of me. I've been really rude.

When I first realized that Shorty was my Wayo, my mind was frozen in shock. Beam and Kit were laughing at me, and I knew they must have known all along. These two are supposed to be my friends? Then they sat with me in the courtyard watching Yo dancing and smiling with his pretty partner, while my heart was breaking in my chest. To top it off they reminded me that while I had been treating Yo badly, my friend Forth had already been making a move on him. Why didn't I recognize him? I am such an idiot. Even his name should have made it obvious.

I thought I could start making it up to Yo by buying him a food box and his favorite pink milk. But that didn't work out like I planned either. Not only did I have to watch Yo share the pink milk with his pretty partner from the competition, but Forth brought him another food box and sat with them while they ate.

We've just been sitting awkwardly in the car, so I decide it's time to move. We got out of the car and went into the restaurant. We placed our order and I stared at Yo wondering what I should do. I can't just completely change my behavior overnight, but I have to find a way to get close to him. Now that I know Yo is my Wayo, I'm going to do whatever it takes to make him mine.

"What are you going to do for your talent?" I asked, trying to get Yo to talk to me. He's mostly been looking around the restaurant since our food came, like I'm as much a part of the furniture as the chair I'm sitting in.

"I haven't had time to think about it," he said looking at me for the first time since we arrived. At least I got him to acknowledge me.

"That's what I thought you'd say," I laughed at him a little. Yo said something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like, "Jerk."

"Everyone has something they're good at," I tried backtracking. Yo seemed to be thinking for a minute and then he smiled and his eyes lit up. Breathe, Phana, it's just a smile. Now is not the right time to grab him and start kissing those amazing lips.

"I can play the piano," Yo looked at me with satisfaction. Piano? I have an uncle who owns a store that sells instruments. I know I've seen practice rooms with pianos in them. I smile back at him because I have just thought of a plan to make sure that my Yo spends as much time as possible alone with me before the Moon and Star Competition.

"You'll need to practice," I said to him.

"I've got a grand piano at home, I can practice there," Yo said to me, taking a drink of his pink milk. That is definitely not part of my plan. Why does he have to have such a wealthy family? There's nothing I can offer him that he can't get for himself!

"That's a little far away, isn't it? You'll have to go everyday after practice. You need to find somewhere closer."

"I don't know anyone with a piano that lives closer."

"I do. Leave it to me, okay?"

"Why are you offering to help me?"

He thinks I'm a jerk and I feel like a jerk, but I also know I have ulterior motives, so I brush it off.

"I'm not doing it for free," I said to him with a wicked grin. "You'll have to be my servant from now until the competition."

"Okay, can't be that hard. It's only a week," he shrugged like it isn't a big deal. "But I can't miss my competition practice or other university activities to work for you. And I need to practice the piano too, so you can't take all of my time."

"Sure," I said unemotionally, but I'm only just stopping myself from bouncing on my seat like a little kid.

Author's Note: I know in the introduction I said I would try to upload all of the duplicate chapters from the other version of the story at once, but it's already 1 AM and I want to go to bed

Author's Note: I know in the introduction I said I would try to upload all of the duplicate chapters from the other version of the story at once, but it's already 1 AM and I want to go to bed. I will publish all the chapters I've been able to finish today and then do the rest tomorrow. I will also try to do my first new chapter tomorrow, so you can get to the part of the story that is different from the other version. Forgive me, I'm just too tired to stay up later tonight.
