CH 2: First Day of School

Donghae woke up the next morning to someone banging on his front door. He rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes as he slowly got up from his bed.

"Where the hell are you? Why are you still sleeping?" Eunhyuk said when Donghae opened the door.

"Wha-what? I thought advanced dancers don't have a specific time to wake up. What time is it?" Donghae said scratching the back of his head and yawning.

Eunhyuk sighed in anger as he stomped into Donghae's room. He went straight into the kitchen and started filling up a glass of water. Once it was completely full, he walked back to Donghae and threw the water right in his face.

"If your going to be in a class with me, we wake up at 5am to start practice. If your ever late again, next time it won't be water splashed on your face." Eunhyuk said throwing the cup into the sink.

"Get dressed for practice. I'm giving you 5 minutes." Eunhyuk said walking out the door and shutting it behind him.

Donghae stood there trying to process what just happend. The water defiantly woke him up though.

"What the fuck!" Donghae yelled out whipping some of the water off his face.

Donghae took a deep breath to try and calm himself down as he went to go put his practice clothes on. A few minutes later Donghae walked out of his dorm with a white wife beater and grey sweatpants on and went to the practice room. He walked in to see Eunhyuk sitting on one of the couches on the side of the room playing with his phone.

Eunhyuk looked up and sighed before going back to his phone.

"If you were up earlier we could've been practicing by now." Eunhyuk said turning off his phone and getting up.

"How was I suppose to know when to get up? You didn't tell me anything, and I thought we would just practice seperatly."

"You really don't get how this school works do you?" Eunhyuk said walking closer to Donghae.

"All the classes at the end of the quarter perform in front of the judges and headmaster to show them what we've learned so far. Only about 10% of the judging you get scored on is based on individual performance. It's mostly scored on overall performance with the rest of the class. So you and I have to perform about 4 different dances perfectly at the end of the quarter to impress the judges."

"Who would set up a school system like that?" Donghae said under his breath.

"Hey, if your gonna complain about it, just leave! The door's right there!" Eunhyuk said pointing to the door.

Donghae looked at the door and then back to Eunhyuk.

"No. I can handle this school's messed up system. What dance do we have to learn first?"

Eunhyuk sighed and turned around, but not before Donghae thought he could see a small smile appear on the dancer's face, raising his eyebrows slightly in surprise.

"Well, we have 4 different dances to learn. The first dance we have to do is a dance by this group called 'Super Junior.' The song is called 'Sorry Sorry' I guess." Eunhyuk said walking over to the touch screen monitor on the wall to select the song.

"Super Junior? I've never heard of them?" Donghae said as he started stretching.

"Me either. What a stupid name for a band. I'll let you listen to it first." Eunhyuk said as he went beside Donghae and started stretching as well.

The practice then went on, and it surprisingly went well. They were able to project the music video onto the mirror wall in front of them so they could watch the dance moves. Whenever Donghae asked Eunhyuk to rewind or show him the step again, Eunhyuk calmly did it. He didn't seem irritated or annoyed to do it at all, he just did it.

Before they even knew it, time flew by faster then they even realized. The lunch bell rang and Eunhyuk turned off the music. He grabbed a towel and started whipping down his face covered in sweat as Donghae sat down on the couch to take a drink of his water. Neither one of them said anything to the other. It was just silent as they were getting ready to go to lunch. As Eunhyuk was walking out the door, Donghae quickly called his name.

"Eunhyuk!"

Eunhyuk turned around and gave him a bored look, making Donghae feel taken back a little.

"Um, great job today. Your an amazing dancer." Donghae said.

Eunhyuk starred at him for a few seconds before walking out the door without a word.

" 'Yeah you did a great job too Donghae, I'm glad to have you in this class.' 'No problem Eunhyuk, it's just such a pleasure being in this class with you!' Pfft, dick." Donghae said to himself as he stood up and headed out of the practice room's door to find Siwon.

"So how was your first class with Eunhyuk?" Kyuhyun asked while opening a small bag of chips for himself.

The four friends, Siwon, Kangin, Kyuhyun, and Donghae, were all sitting under their favorite tree in the courtyard for lunch. The sun was shining bright and the shade from the tree and the autumn breeze kept them from getting too hot.

"It was actually a lot better than expected." Donghae said taking a bite out of his mashed potatoes.

"Really? Was he bulling you the entire time like he does to everyone else?" Kangin asked.

Donghae shook his head. "Nope, he didn't even make fun of me once, well not in the actual practice. He did come to my dorm this morning to wake me up."

"Oh gosh, what did he do to you?" Siwon said eating his rice.

"Once I answered the door, he walked in and threw water at my face to wake me up. He gets up at 5am to practice can you believe that!" Donghae said.

"Wow, I can't believe he gets up earlier than all the other classes, and since you have to be in that class with him, you guys have to practice at the same time. So you have to wake up at 5 everyday as well?" Kyuhyun asked.

Donghae nodded his head as he sighed and rolled his eyes, gaining a chuckle from the friends around him. Soon the second lunch bell rang meaning lunch was now over and it was time to get to class. The four friends picked themselves up, said their goodbyes, and headed off the their next classes.
