After introducing her to my girls we all gathered into the Mercedes. If I had let her in the Range she might have said something about the colour they all do on the first ride. If she had brought it up she might feel bad about the whole story.

I see her making little glances at Sierra and Adalee but stops at Ruby. The faster I get her to Jack the faster I can get this peeper away

At the hospital

"Samantha he's awake you can go right on ahead" nurse Melanie

"Thank you Mel" Melanie and I actually go way back she was trying to calm me down after those know it all doctors said I wasn't going to give birth but I could see the top of Sierra's head popping out of my vagina.

She's old but she still has a lot of pep in her step.

I lead the girls in front and let Ryn walk behind us

I walked into the room and somehow shit like this doesn't shock me anymore.

There Stassie sat beside him having a full blown conversation until we walked in.

"Daddy!" Sierra and Adalee screamed excitedly as they jumped onto the bed engulfing him in a hug.

"Stassie it's been a while" I know the grin on my face may look creepy as hell but I felt like smiling it made me feel better. It made me feel better not to pay attention to him. But when I did I noticed he was focused on Ruby who was stuck to my arm

"Ruby" Jack calls her name but she rolls her eyes and walks out of the room

"I'm sorry" he says to me

I couldn't help but roll my eyes like Ruby did and stepped aside so that Ryn was in sight

"Well I guess you don't need me" Stassie laughed

"Please Jack don't let your belongings drop on my door step after today"

I take the girls out the room and Stassie follows behind

"You busy this weekend" I asked her out of the blue and she looks at me as if I'm crazy

"No why?"

"Girl's trip"

"I'm in" she smiles "is it ok if I come over I need someone to talk to right now and Kylie is busy, Kelsey won't really care about the subject"

"Sure after lunch would seem like an appropriate timing, I have to stop in at work first" I tell her and she nods in agreement

Before I went to work we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast

"Ruby look" Adalee sprung up from her seat excited to show Ruby the weird chicken nugget she got in her kid's meal

Ruby gave her a sweet smile before going back in on her sandwich

Everything seemed to be ok except for Sierra. She looked down in the blues

I could tell because she wasn't talking. She's not as talkative as Adalee but she akways has a lot to say

"What's up babe"

"Daddy isn't coming home is he?"

I wasn't one to hide truth from my kids I could never. They understand better faster to the point that makes me think they're a lot older than 5

"No, but if he's lucky he can have visits"

"Why does he need to visit his own home?" She asked confused

Adalee looked at her as if she was dumb

That's a first it's usually the other way around. Adalee knows there's something going on and I guess that's all she needed to know because she didn't care to ask questions as much as she wanted to. I could tell after she left the hospital. Right now all she was interested in was her chicken nuggets

"Because daddy did something bad and has to go to court to hear his outcome for now he has visits, if he can't work it out then he can't visit ever" I explained and she just nodded  going back to her fries

Ruby was watching Adalee and Sierra in the waiting room of my office at WG but really give the twins their IPads they'll be fine. I came to do some paperwork and do my check in. The usual. Working was a distraction for me, it always was.

Hours past and I was done. Except I was sitting in my chair gazing down a a folder that had the company's initials. WG. Wilkinson, Gilinsky. It was supposed to be ours. He begged me to but his name on it, I thought it was joining families because this is a family based company. I have never felt this much shame in my life. I've never thought love could be shameful.

We were at home and Ruby was painting near the pool, the twins were bathing in it and I was watching them. I laid back on a lounge chair sipping on pineapple juice when Stassie appeared. I texted her to come around the house when I realised it would be a pool evening.

She sat next to me and immediately fights for words

"Spit it out" I say a bit roughly

"I just wanted to catch up see how things have been we are still bestfriends" she laughs nervously

"Well things are great I found out Jack has another baby mama, which means cheater, then I find you at the hospital with Jack" I say sarcast "define in what way are we bestfriends...if anything we are less than that"

"That doesn't necessarily mean anything, can I not go look for a friend" nervous was now above, beneath everywhere

"You never spoke to each other except for at the get together when he said pass the salt and don't get me started on the history I know you both have"

"Jack and I don't have history" her eyes widen in shock, her eyes dialated her jaw was practically at her ankles

"You guys dig around and I did too" I shrugged

"More like Derek opened his mouth...how could you believe him over me, after all that he did"

"To be honest him and Dejeah are the only honest people around me so can you blame me" I took one more sip before putting my glass down and sat up to face her

"Are you drunk?"

"What were you doing at the hospital?" I asked firmly feeling a vein popping on my forehead

"I went to check on Jack after I heard about the accident"

"I know you, when people take your way you don't give a shit about them and I know you don't give a shit about Jack. Tell. Me. The. Truth."

"Jack called me, he wanted me to go over to Ryn, he wanted me to hide the evidence of them being together knowing things would pop up eventually"

"That's all I wanted to hear" I smiled

"One more question and I want you to answer me honestly, I won't get mad if you just answer me honestly"

"What you want to know if I'm packing plastic for real" she rolled her eyes sarcastically

"I might call you plastic but that don't mean I think you are, Stas I know you real, I know is only fillers in them lips"

Even if Stassie was packing plastic I wouldn't care because she's a good person

Or so I thought

"Tell me the truth about you and Jack the thing you guys had"

"We never had a thing"

"You don't just take someone from someone Stassie especially when that other person cares about you"

"What happened between you and Jack?"

"Nothing"

"Stop lying to me for once God you want to mend friendship but you keep lying"

"I'm not"

"Stassie, just get out, get out of my life"
