Chapter 25.
A collection of moments.
"How can you be so stupid?" Ah-ro exclaimed, her anger visible in her features.
Sa-do gave a sarcastic laugh. "What did you want me to do? Stay put and let you go alone?"
Ah-ro gave an immediate and unhesitant, "yes." She couldn't believe that her brother and friend could so stupidly put themselves in danger like that.
"Well, I am going. So, suck it up."
The doctor sighed. It was a lost battle. Her only comfort was that with Seon-woo, Sa-do and Ji-dwi accompanying, Princess Sook-myeong would not be able to lay a finger on her. Well, she might try but she wouldn't succeed. It was still stupid though. Unbelievably stupid.
Ah-ro met Soo-yeon after leaving Seonmoon as she told her friend about the delegation.
After she went home, she had dinner with her father. The conversation was light hearted as she told him how proud she was to be the daughter of the best doctor in all the three kingdoms.
Not having the heart to tell him about the royal family's scheming, she wrote a letter reassuring him that she would be fine and telling him not to worry.
...
Han-seong had been nagging Seon-woo to allow him to join the delegation and when he told him to ask the other guys, he got a forceful, "I don't like the other guys." Then blinking prettily, the young Hwarang added, "I like Seon-woo Rang."
Seon-woo scoffed. "How can you make a confession so suddenly and make the other person flustered?" he teased, playing along.
When asked why he liked the senior Hwarang, Han-seong frowned with a thoughtful expression and said seriously, "I don't know," before breaking into a goofy playful smile, "you are just cool."
"Aigoo," Seon-woo awed as he pinched his cheeks. He was convinced that Han-seong's battle tactic should be being himself. The enemy would surely be disarmed by his overloaded cuteness.
Dan-se arrived and held back his brother. Seon-woo told him to make sure the kid stayed put, not putting it past Suk Han-seong to sneak away and follow the delegation all the way to Baekje.
...
Soo-ho was packing for the trip to South Buyeo. The room was empty except for Yeo-wool. The later was silent, for once, in a form of protest.
"Are you really not going to talk to me?" Soo-ho asked, getting an annoyed huff in reply.
"How could you just volunteer like that? Don't you realize that it is a dangerous mission?" Yeo-wool raved, repeating what he had been complaining about since the delegation was appointed.
Soo-ho waved him off, assuring him that he would be fine because after all, he was Kim Soo-ho. This obviously earned him a slap on the arm as his friend chided him for joking around at a time like this.
