Kai's POV
My life could be described by many people as glamorous, extravagant or other things, they're not far from the truth though I would say their description of it is accurate. I do practically anything I want, go everywhere and anywhere, if I want something all I have to do is throw some cash in it and I got it. But all those privileges in my life come with a cost and that is everytime dear father calls I have to answer. That's some unspoken rule we set some years ago, if I don't comply with him all he has to do is threaten to cut me off and as simple as that my glamorous life is over.
I could always work on my own so he wouldn't have a leverage over my head, but at some point I'll take over his job and handling my own company and the family company at the same time would cause me a lot of future stress that I rather avoid.
Most of the times my father needs of my assistance is with something relating the company. Like going to meetings, events and what not as I'm to take over the company whenever he decides to step down since I'm his only heir I need to show up to those things every so often. So when he calls I usually don't put a fight and just go.
But something tells me this time it has nothing to do with an event, an interview or a meeting as the other times.
So here I am on the elevator going up to his office to find out what is it that he wants. The music that was playing in the elevator was rather nice and cheerful, perhaps its to ease the people before they have to step into his office, since this was the private elevator that goes straight to that floor. I couldn't help but hum to the rhythm of the very catchy song thats playing.
I'll have to ask around here if anyone happens to know the name of it.
The elevator made their ding sound indicating I arrived to the floor. Once I got out I could see my father's secretary at her desk typing away on the computer. I approached her and as if sensing me she looked up and gave me a small polite smile.
"Hi Miss Raymond, Mr. Raymond is waiting for you inside," Dennis said motioning to the big closed door in front of us.
Dennis is a nice middle aged lady that has been working for my father ever since I can remember. I always tell her to call me by my name instead but she's one stubborn lady.
"Thanks Dennis. Hey do you happen to know who chooses the elevator's music?"
She gave me a puzzled look, "I think is a machine that does it."
"Damn it," I mumbled.
I really wanted to know which song was that.
"Doesn't matter, I'll go inside now. Say hi to your grandkids for me would you."
She chuckled but said she would, after that I finally entered the wolf's den.
"Malakai, finally," my father said and motioned me with his hand to take a sit in the chair in front of his desk.
I hate when people call me by my whole name, it just sounds like I'm a villain or some shit like that, I rather go by my nickname but to my annoyance my father doesn't thinks like me in that matter or in any other but that's besides the point.
"Henrik," I simply said and took a sit.
He shook his head at my lack of good manners and looked besides me. "Apologies for her, she gets the hard headed from me but the mannerisms of her mother," I frown and turn to where he is looking at.
When I do I see two women, both looked alike with blonde hair but one looked to be around my age while the other was a lot older. Mother and daughter I figured. How did I not see them when I entered, but again I wasn't really paying attention to my surroundings, I was too busy trying not to forget the lyrics of the elevator's song so I could look it up later.
