Faye was paralyzed, unsure what to say. She had no idea the Choi's ever had a son.

Mrs.Choi walked up to Faye and sat behind her on the bed.

"He was like you in many ways- he was a shy, anxious mess." She began. "Cheol-ho was his name and he had a soulmate just like you."

Faye sat down beside her intrigued in the story.

"When he was nineteen he bonded. We had no clue he even had one. He was so secretive. Once and a while he would feel random pains and not tell us."

"One day he feel ill; exactly how you felt. He vomited night and day. His father and I were so worried. We drove him to the hospital on the fourth day. By this time he could barley breath."

"When we arrived Area, the lady who helped you, also helped us. She brought us up to the soulmate ward and told us that a girl around the same age had also come in with a soulmate bond."

"We were so scared as she frantically ran to go get the girl from the other room. Our son was dying right before our eyes. Area came back empty handed no girl, nothing."

Faye held her breath.

"She told us the girl was gone. Just as she did Cheol-ho took his last breath. We were in a state of hysteria-yelling and screaming. She told us that the girl had left him a note."

Fighting back tears Mrs.Choi opened the black box to reveal a small crumpled piece of paper. She took it out and handed it to Faye. Shaking Faye opened the note.

Dear Soul mate,

I wish I could say I was sorry. I don't need a soulmate. Death seems like the only option for me now. I know this will find you one day. Soulmates are just a fairy tale parents tell there kids to keep them from worrying about their future. People should choose who they love not let a folk tale decide for them. I hope this letter finds you well,

Kim Jung-Yoon

It was scribbled in barley legible printing. Faye let out a shaky breath. She finally understood why Mrs.Choi was so nice to her over the past couple days.

"Mrs.Choi I'm so sor-"

"I don't want your pitty Faye. Let this be a reminder. You and your soulmate are in this together."

"Some soulmates don't fall in love and find other lovers and see each other as friends and thats fine."

Mrs.Choi choked back tears "But like it or not you are each other's life source."

Mrs.Chois words sat in Fayes gut like a brick. She debated telling the story of Cheol-ho to Jungwoo but decided not to- their relationship still had many difficult walls they would have to break through.

Famished from two heart to hearts in the span of 24 hours, the anxious girl bounced her leg as Mr.Choi drove up to the dorms.

Her breathed hitched as she looked up at the house. It looked like any normal house. She wasn't sure what she expected- castle maybe with a golden stair case and money toilet paper.

She let out a chuckle at the thought.

Waving goodbye to Mr.Choi-promising she would call him- she walked towards the house. She was met with the familiar face of NCTs manager standing outside.

Bowing a small greeting- she walked up to him.

"Hello Faye." He brushed the hair out of his face and offerd to take her suitcase. Grateful she handed him the purple luggage. Her body was starting to get tired and sore. "Jungwoo is inside and the other boys are at practice."

Faye nodded along as he spoke. He headed towards the front door with Faye trailing behind him like a lost puppy.

I'm using something like Yutas description of the dorms in 2018, with a few adjustments because Jungwoo wasn't there. Here is Yutas drawing but I'm changing a few things up ⬇️
