Annabeth's POV
I rock back and forth trying to calm myself down. Its alright. He's alright. Im alright. We're alright. I suddenly feel someones' hand on my shoulder. Its Leo. This might be the first time hes not laughing or smiling. "Annabeth, they are about to take percy's body and burn him in a shroud." he says sadly. I start shaking violently. "N-N- No N-NO YOU CANT, HE MIGHT BE ALIVE." i shout. Leo just bends down and gives me a hug. I start sobbing until my eyes turn red and puffy. A blinding light soon appears and everybody shields their eyes even though i was tempted not to. Percy would not want me to give up my life.
"Apollo!" Chiron kneels. " Get up dude! Its no big deel." he smiles. I start feeling envious. How can he be so calm and collected when so many people died? "Im here to heal Percy" Apollo declares. My mood suddenly brightens. "But there is a catch, if i heal him he will become a god." i start sobbing all over again as Leo comforts me. Apollo looks at me waiting for my acceptance. As much as i cant live with out percy, this is better than never seeing him again.
Apollo mutters a couple of words before percy starts coughing and breathing. All the color that was drained from his face returns as his eyes flutter open. "Percy!" I yell. I scutter to the ground next to him and hug him. He hugs me back. "Oh seaweed brain! I thought i would loose you forever" i cry. "Dont cry wise girl." he kisses me. I smile, but it quickly turns into a frown. "Whats wrong?" he asks worriedly. "We cant be together anymore." i tear up. "What? Why?." he asks. "The only way you can live is if you become a god." i frown.
He shakes his head. "No!" he shouts. " I dont want to be one!" he yells. "Percy... Its the only way we can see each other." I smile sadly. " I'll give you one day to choose." Apollo says then disappears. One day before Percy and I are not together anymore. One day. One day..... I help percy up and then we head towards the beach. We dont talk about the godly subject at all. We just enjoy each others company.
