Skylar Finn
8:30 AM-Monday
Magnum Academy's GymnasiumSuddenly flags were placed in front of the group of students with different colors. Oh yeah, color representing our attributes.
"There are several flags in front of you, please go to your respective attribute flags and we will begin soon" the teacher spoke in the podium up the stage, I believe he is teacher Dominic, the P.E teacher or Combat something teacher, I dont know.
Every participants started to move. Many went to the air and earth flags and the others, what caught me is that there was no one walking towards the water-attribute flag at the very side.
Oh. I almost forgot what HM Madoxx have said.
I was the last to move and I slowly went to the water attribute flag and I heard series of gasps from the crowd. I then turned and looked at them and saw my mom smiling and I faintly smiled back.
The flags then disappeared. And paper and pen was floating in front of everyone.
"The first challenge is the use of brain. Everyone will answer a riddle and those who would be able to answer will move to the next evaluation, while those who don't will be automatically be eliminated you only have 30 seconds to think. Good luck" he said and everyone cheered in the bleachers.
"The only riddle is this. I visit you every night even if you don't call me and I am lost every day, what am I?" he asked.
I don't call it but it will come?
I lost in everyday?
What's there in night that day doesn't have?
Star and Moon. I thought
But sometimes I can see moon even if the sky is still bright.
I then hold on to the pen and paper and wrote my answer. The paper disappeared after I put my answer. I just breath a deep one and looked at everyone and only a few was finished.
"Times up!"
Then green and red lights in front of our heads. I have a green light.
"To those who have gotten a green light, congratulations while the red ones this will be the end of your race. The answer is star" he stated and some student started walking off and a bright smile was surely etched in my face and I looked at my mom smiling at me. I can do this I thought.
Everyone cheered for the remaining and there were only 12 of us left 3 girls and 9 boys. This will be tough. They have determination in their eyes and I should also.
"The next challenge is to defeat the magical beast in front of you, if not you are eliminated"
12 Rock Golems appeared in front of us.
We then walked to our position in front of our own enemy and everyone cheered.
I can do this.
First, concentrate
Second, analyze
Third, counter
That's what mom said about basic martial arts.
I may or may not have learned martial arts. I am not that good but I think its enough.
My fellow participants charged to their opponents and I stand still.
Concentrate on your power. I then set my left foot in front and lowered my upper body a bit.
The golem then started moving forward with its hand out of rock was raised ready to smash me. In the nick of time I swiftly dodge and do a spin kick hitting the golem's chest causing it to move backward and I heard the crowd going louder.
I turned and they were watching me. I looked at the others and they were using magic, while I don't.
I turned back at the golem and now he is holding a huge boulder. Then he threw it on me.
I started panicking when I heard Lumina's voice in my head.
'Find its weakest part' she said and I looked at the approaching boulder and manage to find the center as it softest point. I then focused my power on my hand and punch the designated point and the boulder cracked into pieces. Then everyone was silent for a second then there goes their screaming again. I need to end this quick.
Focus.
I held my hand in front of me with my fingers spread open pointing at the golem.
I closed my eyes and opened them after seconds past. I saw the golem running towards me and there goes the great moment.
"Hydro Pump!"
I chanted and a magic circle appeared in front of me and there came out loads of water gushing towards the golem causing it to be pushed at the wall and made an impact making the golem break into pieces.
Loud cheering was heard.
I looked at mom and she smiled at me with her thumbs up and I saw the other Student Council cheering as well beside mom and I smiled at them.
There were only 4 of us left. All of us are boys, well maybe partially not me.
"Congratulations to the last four participants. Get ready for the next trial and you wil have a 10 minute break for you four will face each other. This year's evaluation has a twist, only one will be an official Magnumian" Everyone cheered, well I am petrified. I thought as long as you perform good you will get through.
This is a gamble.
I looked at mom and a sinister smile was on her face.
She knew it but didn't tell every detail.
You can do it, its a challenge. She mouthed and I just nodded and went to her for my 10-minute break.
As I arrived at my mother's direction Trisha and Rosanna jumped on me hugging me tight.
"You were so cool!" Rosanna chirped.
"Agreed. Who would've thought this small cutie here can fight" Trisha stated.
Did anyone forgot to bring tomato to the party, you can just have my head.
"Sky, you did well honey. I have some advice before you go back in the final trial" mom said and kissed my forehead then ruffled my hair.
"Your so awesome Finn!" Marco cheered and slap my shoulder in a playful manner and I just smiled at their behavior.
I felt a familiar presence near our area, I turned and saw Zach staring at me with a cold demeanor. He then turned his attention elsewhere seconds after our eyes met. He is one big weird vampire.
"Final four! The final trial is about to start, go on your places and goodluck."
"Come here Sky" Mom said and I went to her side and said,
"Its a fatal-four way match, you cannot simply use your power alone, you should outsmart them." I nodded and was about to walk away when she yelled at me.
"Don't do anything stupid or reckless" And I heard the MSC laughing most especially the girls and Marco. I glared at mom and just said a simple yes.
