Now What?

I woke up to the sound of an unfamiliar ringtone and turned over to check where it was coming from. I turned towards the other side to see Nick sleeping soundly and shirtless, strands of platinum blonde hair covering his face. "I almost feel bad for having to wake him up" I grumbled 'but obviously the ringing isn't going to stop until he answers. "Nick...Nick" I shook him softly until he sat up, eyes squinting as I handed him the phone, which was obviously too bright for the dark hotel room.

"Hello?" He answered with a sleepy voice as he rubbed his eyes.

'What time is it anyways?' I thought to myself and checked my own phone to see it was 5:47 am, way too early for me, personally.

"What? ... No... 'Cause I don't want to... Roman, find someone else to go to the gym with you...I already had my workout" he looked over at me with a smirk and I felt my face turn red, even more so when he looked me up and down and I realized I was wearing a lot less clothing than I was earlier. "Alright... see you later man." he hung up and tossed his phone over his shoulder.

"You should've gone with him" I turned on the lamp to it's dim setting and started looking for my things.

"Nah I'm good" he said as he handed me my black shorts. "I always knew you looked good in pink" he smiled as I slipped my shorts back on, matching my pink and black lace bra.

"Quit joking" I chuckled as I reached for my white v neck but he gently pulled me back onto his lap.

"Now, what?"

"What do you mean?" His skin felt warm against mine and my heart raced, threatening to pop out of my chest.

"I don't want to be friends with benefits, that's not me. I didn't want to mess this up, but I couldn't help myself this time." The devilish smile on his face made my heart pound faster despite my best efforts to calm down. "We're in an on-screen relationship, but how about a real one?"

Our storyline consisted of occasional flirting and casual physical contact, yet here we are, half naked in the same bed. I was hesitant about being in a storyline relationship for obvious reasons, but despite my dating history, I'm willing to give me and Nick a shot. "Alright..." I smiled and he kissed me sweetly, happy with my response, "but you gotta promise me you won't get carried away at work. It's bad enough all the girls constantly pick on me, I can already imagine what they'll say."

'It's about time! Aww you two are sooooo cute!' So on and so on. I loved the girls to death but when it comes to each others' relationships, everyone's a bit too involved sometimes. "Fine," he motioned that he'd keep his mouth shut and I couldn't help but smile, "but you can't stop me from doing this, even if we're at work" he wrapped his arms around my waist tight and kissed me deeply.

Eventually Dolph had to head back to his room to get ready for the day, and I had to get showered and head to the arena early since Sandra, everyone's favorite seamstress, had my new ring gear for the first ever Fast Lane pay-per-view. After putting on a green tank top, purple hoodie, jeans and Vans decorated with the Joker, I packed my things and headed to the arena, wouldn't hurt to get some lunch at catering right?

It seemed that I wasn't the only one to arrive early, besides the set up crews, there were plenty of superstars already there getting ready for the huge event. After my lunch, I sat down with a bowl of cherries, and was later joined by Paige, Rosa, and a camera crew from Total Divas.

"Hey, Vanessa" Rosa greeted me with a smile.

"Hey guys" I offered them some cherries and set the bowl between the three of us.

"Ooh, thanks" We chatted for a while, Rosa told me about a new guy she was seeing and Paige told me about a new band I should check out. It was good to get some girl time before the show.

"So your match is against Summer, huh?" Paige tied a bunch of cherry stems in a chain as she spoke.

"Yeah, gotta kick ass like usual" I sighed and scrolled though my Instagram.

"Ugh, he's so hot" I heard Rosa groan.

"Well, he's coming his this way" Paige chuckled and I looked up to see him dressed in his casual clothes.

"Ladies" Dolph greeted us with a smile.

"Hey" we said in unison as the cameras turned to him.

"Vanessa, Mark wanted to talk to you." Great.

"Oooooh, you're in trouble" Paige teased, and they laughed as I walked away by Dolph's side.

"Is everything ok?" I looked up at him as we headed down the corridors.

"Probably nothing bad, but definitely important" he knocked on the door and opened the door after hearing a muffled 'Come in'.

"Ah, it's a good thing you came together" we took our seats across from Mark's desk, eager to hear what he had to say. "So one of the reasons we paired you two in the storyline is because Dolph is one of the few superstars that wouldn't be overshadowed by the Diva's title. There is also the fact that you two have incredible chemistry, and Vanessa, you've shown us in the past that you're more than willing to get your hands dirty when it comes to getting involved with the Superstars' matches." I took that as a compliment, whether or not he meant it as one. "Dolph, how would you feel about Vanessa providing a little distraction in your match tonight?" Dolph's eyes met mine and he knew how much this would mean to me.

"Absolutely" his warm smile gave me butterflies and I couldn't help but squeal in excitement, which isn't something I normally did.

"Excellent! We'll do some quick rewrites to your promo Vanessa, and we'll call you back in" we excused ourselves and once the door to Mark's office closed behind us, I pounced on Nick and hugged him tightly.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I buried my face in his neck as he hugged me back.

"Anything for you sweetheart" he chuckled and squeezed me hard. "Knowing you, you'd kill me if I said no."

"You know me so well" I laughed as we started making our way to the men's locker room.

"I would hope so, I've known you six years already, and you ARE my girlfriend."

"You say that like it's no big deal."

"Maybe because I always knew you'd be my girlfriend" he said slyly.

"Oh, really?"

"Really."

"I remember when I first met you, you hit on me before you even knew my name."

"Shot me down like an enemy missile" he said and I started remembering the early days of my career. "But you weren't like every other girl I met. When everyone else saw Dolph, the cocky guy who got on everyone's nerves, you saw Nick, the guy who worked his ass off until he was good enough to make it here." We had come to a stop in the hallway.

"It's not that you were annoying, most people just couldn't handle your confidence" I smiled.

"And that there is exactly why I knew you'd be my girlfriend." He hugged me tightly and kissed my temple, "anyways, I gotta get dressed, perfection isn't easily achieved" he flexed like the show off he is and I chuckled. "I'll see you later?" I kissed him goodbye, letting the chills take over my body and made my way to Sandra's station.

-

"Well, well, well, what're you up to?" Sandra rested her hand on her hip as I approached.

"Mmm, nothing, why?" I sat on the stool by her station.

"You're in an unusually good mood" she raised her eyebrow and looked me up and down trying to figure me out.

"I dunno, Sandra, all I know is you've got something good for me" my smile only grew brighter when she handed me my new ring gear. Same moto style jacket, but the lace sleeves had a skull pattern and black crystals adorned the back. The shorts had cut out crows on the sides and were replaced with the skull lace pattern and my boots were also decorated with black crystals as well. I thanked Sandra once more but before I could head to the locker room to change, I had one more thing to pick up before getting dressed.
