Episode 2: Kindness

"How did you do it?! Who are your accomplices?! I knew this would happen!"

"Commander, shouldn't we kill her already?"

"Poor Yuko..."

I can hear the people who are used to be my comrades, talking outside the cell.

The room was dark, I can't see them too because of the one-way mirror and yet I can hear them clearly.

"I didn't do it..." I muttered under my breath, enough for them to hear.

I heard her scoffed.

"Of course you didn't. That's like every criminal's line, Tsushima. Even so...you're already supposed to be terminated before, weren't you? As if what you did would make it worse."

Right.

What did I expect?

They're loyal dogs after all...

I chuckled.

"How dumb..."

You're all dumb.

"Wh-What did you say?!" She growled.

I smiled to myself as I felt the cold chains against my skin.

"I said you're dumb...now I guess you're deaf too."

"That's enough. Save your taunting, Tsushima...the government has already given an order for your punishment. Save your breath into something more important, if you will." Another one spoke.

Something important?

Right...like, my last words. 

You want my last words? I'll give you one.

"Traitor..."

That's right...even inside the government, there's still traitors. 

Now that I think of it, I don't really care if they have one. It would be fun to see how they fall apart from inside...

Too bad I won't live another day to witness it. 

"Young girl...do you want to live?" 

I opened my eyes and sensed someone else in the room with me. 

How did he get in? Or maybe I am hallucinating.

"Live? For what?" I answered.

I can feel his remorse, like he's in pain. I don't even know him and yet why is he pitying me?

"Your life hasn't started, you haven't even lived your life yet. Do you want to continue living?"

What is he talking about?

My life is coming to an end...

My life only made it this far...

A terrible life...

"Who are you? What do you want?" I asked.

"I will return the question to you, young girl. What do you want?" He said.

What do I want? 

How nice...no one has ever asked me that. 

What do I want? 

I'm tired.

I want to rest.

I want to sleep.
