"You're clocking out already?" Abigail, a friend from work asks me with a jealous huff
I laugh and key my employee code in "The joys of 5am starts, I get to leave before you"
"Tough day?" She asks leaning against the desk
I sigh and add an eye roll for extra affect "I had a few broken bones - mainly noses, all for stupid reasons"
"Do I even want to know?"
I shake my head and straighten my handbag on my shoulder "Definitely not. Good luck, you'll need it"
Abi sighs when the gadget attached to her waist buzzes "The joys of being a nurse"
I give her shoulder a reassuring squeeze before leaving the hospital, the streets of Evergreen have a slight buzz to them as I drive to my place. A few seconds later, I pull to the two story house I rented when I first came to Evergreen five years ago. The house itself is beautiful but it's not what I plan to be my forever home, but for now while it's just me it'll do.
After a long, hot shower to wash away the stresses of work, I change into some light wash denim blue shorts and a white sports bra. I pull my blonde hair up into a ponytail and opt on no makeup.
