Chapter 16

Y/n's POV

I was so excited for tonight yet nervous. I could feel a wave of coldness go throughout my body. I hate being like this.

Matt is on his way here, so I should finish ironing my hair.

I finish ironing my hair until I was sure that it looked good, when I hear knocking on the door. I walk over & open the door when I see Matt. He looked..just amazing.

"Wow.. Y/n you look stunning."

"Thank you, you look just as good Espinosa" I smirked.

I noticed he was holding something behind his back.

"I want to give you these."

He smiled, handing out a bouquet of red roses.

My heart melted in happiness & sweetness all together.

"Oh my god. That is so sweet babe. I love you."

I say as I hug him with my arm around his back, the other holding the flowers.

" I love you too. Should we get going?"

"Uh yeah, just let me put these in some water."

I say as I head to the kitchen, putting the flowers in a vase & adding warm water.

"Okay, now we can go."

I smiled, as we walk hand in hand to the car.

On our way there, I noticed that I'm going to these once in a lifetime experiences & none of my parents are here to witness it. It would help having a mother come up to you & say

"Honey you look amazing. Have a great night."

Being the person you look up to, helping you through everyday problems.

But that just doesn't happen to me. And it never will. We're running out of food at the house, & I don't know how much longer it'll last.

"Y/n? Babe you alright?"

Matt asked, making me realize that I was staring out the window.

"Yeah I'm fine. I'm just a bit nervous.."

"Don't worry about it, we'll have a great time."

He reassured me, rubbing the palm of my hand with his thumb.

When we arrived we saw lots of students outside, greeting their friends, either chatting or making out.

We entered the ball & our ears instantly filled with blasting music.

We walked towards some of Matts friends.

"Hey guys."

Matt said.

"H-hey dude, who's the pretty lady?"

He said shifting a bit front.

This guy is drunk as hell.

"My girlfriend."

Matt said in a serious tone, slightly squeezing my hand.

"Oh, damn. She's a hot one."

He said, taking a sip of his drink.

I felt uncomfortable as his eyes scanned my body.

"Lets give him something to look at."

Matt turned around & cupped my face, bringing our lips together. His hands trailed down , stopping right on my butt. We kissed for god knows how long until we pulled apart.
