9:56 AM[Connor P.O.V.]
I open my eyes to find myself in the serene garden. I suppose many humans would find it beautiful. I cross the white marble bridge to the center where Amanda tends to a rose plant. "Hello, Amanda." I greet. "Connor... It's good to see you. Congratulations, Connor. Finding that deviant was far from easy, and the way you interrogated it was very clever. You've been remarkably efficient, Connor." I can tell that Amanda is satisfied by my work. "Thank you, Amanda." She continues watering the roses as she speaks. "We've asked the DPD to transfer it to us for further study. It may teach us something about what happened. The interrogation seemed...challenging... What did you think of the deviant?" I talk a moment to decide the answer. "It showed all the signs of deviancy: cognitive instability, unpredictable behavior, and the emulation of human emotions. It was even afraid to die. The model was clearly defective. I prevented it from being damaged, so we might still learn something by analyzing it. It said something to me: "The truth is inside". I don't know what that means. Unless it was just another error in its program."
Amanda waits before asking her next question as if finding the task troubling. "This... Lieutenant Anderson has been officially assigned to the deviancy case... What do you make of him?" It doesn't take me long to decide an answer. "I think he's irritable, and socially challenged. But I also think he used be a good detective... He's an intriguing character." She barely acknowledges the response. "And Detective Manfred." I take longer with this answer. What did I make of her? Much kinder to androids then the Lieutenant for sure, but secretive of emotions. "She was showing clear signs of distress during the investigation last night, but seemed cooperative otherwise. Perhaps she will be in a better mood during the next lead. Although, she appears to have far too much empathy for the deviants. She doesn't quite see them for the machines they are."
"Unfortunately, we have no choice but to work with them... What do you think is the best approach?" Amanda continues. I hardly think before I speak my next words. "I will try to establish a friendly relationship. If I can get him to trust me, it will be helpful for the investigation." Perhaps that wasn't wise. Amanda does not seem pleased with me. "More and more androids show signs of deviancy. There are millions in circulation. If they become unstable, the consequences will be disastrous. You are the most advanced prototype CyberLife has ever created. If anyone can figure out what's happening, it's you." Amanda...encourages? I can't say I particularly know. Nonetheless, I reply, "You can count on me, Amanda."
.........
I walk into the police station. There is work to be done. I walk up the the android receptionist. "Can I help you?" "I'm here to see Lieutenant Anderson and Detective Manfred." I speak authoritatively. "Do you have authorization?" "Yes." We connect to share my authorization information. "Neither Lieutenant Anderson nor Detective Manfred have arrived yet, but you can wait at one of their desks." The android instructs. "Thank you." I walk towards the desk, thinking about what I have to accomplish.

I look for the desks first. "I'm looking for Detective Manfred or Lieutenant Anderson's desk." I ask an android. He points to two desk the are close to each other. "It's those desks right there." I nod. Having located the desks, I go to the holding cells to speak with the deviant. "They're gonna destroy me." It says urgently. I don't know how to respond. I don't know what has come over me with my response. "I'm sorry. It's not what I wanted but there's nothing I can do." A get a notice of a slight software stability decrease. I shake it off and focus on my mission. I ask it questions. "The sculpture you made... Tell me more about it..." It doesn't respond. "What you said yesterday... "the truth is inside"... What does it mean?" I press. "What you wrote on the wall...rA9... What does it mean? Do you know any other deviants? Are there many of you?" The deviant speaks, but not answer. It speaks final words.
