I've never included a song in an imagine for Game of Thrones before, and I know I probably write too much for Tyrion, but I make no apologies 😊 he is such a wonderful character, and a delight to write for. I am the biggest hopeless romantic you could ever find, and couldn't resist writing this. I include the lyrics from the song "Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. I hope you enjoy.

Tyrion stood in Castle Black, nervously running his finger round the inside of his collar and fidgeting with the cloak in his hands, the septon smiling at him as he, Tyrion, Tormund and the other wildlings waited for the doors to open to reveal the woman that was to be his wife.

Tyrion couldn't believe that his dreams were finally coming true; after everything life had thrown at him, all the setbacks, all the trials and tribulations of his life, he had finally found a woman that had made his life worth living, a woman that could see past everything, past what had happened in his life before, to the man that wanted nothing more than to be loved, and give love.

From the moment he had set eyes on (Y/n) Snow, Tyrion could swear that his world was no longer dark and grey, no longer an endless procession of nameless whores and bottomless wine glasses, but a kaleidoscope of the most glorious colours and new opportunities.

They had been friends to begin with, a simple sweet friendship that had in itself been more than anything that Tyrion could have hoped for; he had met her when he had first met her brother, she was every inch a northern woman, but she was no mere lady, she was tough, resourceful, cunning, highly intelligent and exceptionally skilled with both sword and bow, and more like a wildling than anything from the Seven Kingdoms; but that was what made Tyrion love her, and despite him believing that friendship was all their relationship could be, fate can sometimes have other plans, or maybe one of the great gods was looking down on him, but whatever it was, Tyrion knew not to question it, and as his body had intertwined with (Y/n)'s in a lover's embrace that very first time, the two gasping for air and drenched with sweat as they looked into each other's eyes, Tyrion knew that he would never want another woman in his life, that (Y/n) was his everything.

(Y/n) had given him a life that he could have only ever wished for, stability that he had never know, happiness that he thought was only meant for others; but most importantly, love that he wasn't sure could really exist.

"Why are ya doin this, (Y/n) is more like free folk, we don't need all this pomp and ceremony, just take er, it ain't like she ain't yours anyway, we've all heard the noises that come from ya tent when ya in the encampment?" Tormund laughed, as Tyrion arched his brow and looked at the big red man that was waiting close by him.

"I am doing this because it is the right thing to do. Even though my marriage to Sansa was forced on me, and the thing annulled, I don't want (Y/n) to ever feel like she is second best, or not the most important thing in my life. I want to show the gods that she is the only woman that I want to be with for the rest of my life." Tyrion said quietly, thinking back to the farce that was his marriage to her sister.

"Ave it your way, but take it from me, women don't need all of this, they just need a real man that'll carry em off, fuck em right and put plenty of babies in their bellies." Tormund told him, ignoring the glare of the septon.

Suddenly the two large doors opened to reveal the woman Tyrion had been waiting to see, the breath hitching in his throat as he looked at the vision of beauty before him. As always, (Y/n) looked breathtaking, the dress she wore was simple and understated, pale and perfect; her dark hair was hidden by a simple arrangement of flowers that accentuated the glorious colour of her eyes, and as she took the first step through the doors, her brother proudly by her side, Tyrion's world stood still, and his mind filled with music; he thought that the day she had said yes to his proposal was the greatest day of his life, but now he knew that nothing would ever take the memory of this moment away from his mind.

Heart beats fast

Colors and promises

How to be brave

How can I love when I'm afraid to fall

But watching you stand alone

All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow.

Tyrion felt himself smile, as her every step towards him seemed to be in slow motion, every step graceful, and every step a step closer to a new life.

I have died everyday, waiting for you

Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more.

He could feel his heart pound violently in his chest as (Y/n) smiled at him with such love, her whole body appearing to glow as she moved ever closer. Tyrion couldn't help but pinch himself, surely this couldn't be real, surly he wasn't this lucky, love had never really worked in his favour before, so why should this be any different; but as he watched the small drop of blood ooze from the pinch mark, and then back at (Y/n) who was still walking towards him, he finally believed that this was all true.

Time stands still

Beauty in all she is

I will be brave

I will not let anything, take away

What's standing in front of me

Every breath, every hour has come to this.

"She looks beautiful. You're a very lucky little man ta ave a woman like that." Tormund whispered, smiling himself as (Y/n) took one step closer.

Tyrion looked up at his large friend, a sense of pride filling his body as he realised that Tormund was right, he was lucky, and (Y/n) was his woman, and she always would be.

I have died everyday, waiting for you

Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed, I would find you

Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more.

Straightening himself as (Y/n) drew one step closer, Tyrion combed his hair back behind his ears, and brushed his hand over his beard, desperately gulping down the large lump that had formed in his throat; he had to make sure that everything was right, he had to make sure that he spoke every word of his vows without stuttering or stammering, he had sworn to himself that he would make this the truly special day that it was meant to be, for after all, he knew that it would be the only wedding he would ever have again.

One step closer

One step closer

"Hello handsome, fancy meeting you here." (Y/n) whispered with a small chuckle as she took the final step to his side, the two smiling broadly as one another as Jon presented his sister to her future husband.

"Ready to be Lady Lannister forever?" Tyrion asked nervously, as he took her hands in his.

"I've never been more ready for anything in my life, my love." (Y/n) replied quietly, as she and Tyrion turned to look at the septon who had begun the marriage ceremony.

I have died everyday, waiting for you

Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed, I would find you

Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more.

As Tyrion placed the Lannister cloak around (Y/n)'s shoulders, the septon declaring to the massed wildlings and their friends that they were there to witness the union of man and wife, one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever, a ribbon tied in a knot around their two joined hands, Tyrion knew that most things were fleeting, but this love, their love, would last for a thousand years.
