(Y/n) made her way out onto the dirt streets, even though the hour was late, a place like Kings Landing never truly slept, there was always activity around the cat house and the saloon as men got drunk and gambled the night away, sometimes taking a woman up to a room so that they could enjoy their favours for the right price. (Y/n) couldn't help but smile as she made her way over to the old supply store, that compared to the newer buildings that Mayor Robert was having built up around it, looked as though it had come from another time and place. Sandor had been living in the small rooms above the store for as long as (Y/n) could remember, and despite the fact that the big man never cleaned the living space, to (Y/n) it was one of her favourite places in Kings Landing, a place where she had always felt safe.

Quietly (Y/n) made her way up the rickety wooden staircase that led up from the street to the rooms where she would find her big friend, hoping that the bottle of whiskey that she held under her arm would placate Sandor, and he would forgive her for the fact that she had not come to see him sooner.

Knocking on the door (Y/n) waited, turning her attention to a sudden commotion from the other side of the street, shaking her head as she watched an obviously drunk miner getting expelled, unceremoniously from the saloon, knowing that it didn't matter how hard Tywin and Robert tried to make Kings Landing civilised, when you have a mine with a load of drunk, horny miners nearby, it was going to take a little more than a few nice new buildings to make Kings Landing cultured.

"What do ya want." A deep angry growl came from behind (Y/n), causing her to spin on her heels, growing wide eyed as she found the barrel of a gun pointed at her head.

"Ok, I know I should have come to see you first, but you don't have to shoot me." (Y/n) scoffed, as she slowly raised her hand and pushed the gun away.

"(Y/N)!" Sandor shouted, instantly pulling her in a tight embrace, gripping on so tight that she could swear that at any moment she wouldn't be able to breath.

"Hi Sandor, it's nice to see you too. Now can you put me down." (Y/n) gasped, gulping for air as the big man finally let her go.

"What tha hell are ya dressed as (Y/n)?" Sandor ask, looking at the fancy pants, shirt and waistcoat that (Y/n) was currently wearing, clothes that Petyr had brought to her room not long after disappearing with the dress.

"Well, if you can find two clean glasses in this pigsty of a room, I will tell you." (Y/n) told the big man, her eyes falling on the piles of old torn clothes, dirty tin plates with the remnants of what could once have been beans, and empty liqueur bottles that were thrown all over the floor and what little shabby furniture there was.

"You know Sandor, you really need to get yourself a woman. You can't keep living like this, a man of your age should be settled down with a nice lady, and a couple of kids by now." (Y/n) said, grimacing a little as Sandor picked up a couple of chipped glasses, spitting in them both and cleaning them with his dirty shirt.

"I don't need a woman dragging me down, and what woman would have me? No, if I want a woman, I go over ta tha cat house and pay for it." Sandor replied, taking the bottle from (Y/n)'s hand and pouring two glasses of whiskey, picking up an old wooden chair so that (Y/n) could sit down.

"No, you need someone to look after you, cos god knows it doesn't look like you can do it yourself. I worry about you Sandor, and surly you can afford better than this now that you work for Robert, surly he pays you well enough." (Y/n) said, as brushed off the dirt from the chair.

"Ay, he pays well enough, betta do when I have ta watch ova that little bastard, Joffrey; I swear that little shit is getting worse, and his mother does nothing ta help, she just mollycoddles him, if ya ask me, that boy could do with a damn good slap." Sandor growled, looking up at (Y/n) as she began to laugh.

"You know, as much as this place changes, somethings will always stay the same, Joffrey will always be a spiteful, sadistic little asshole, and Cersei will always be a bitch." (Y/n) told him, reaching to take the glass of whiskey from Sandor's hand.

"Ay lass, ya right about that, now are ya gonna tell me why ya dressed like a dandy, or am I just gonna have to guess?" Sandor asked, as he downed his second glass of whiskey.

"Well........ when I got into town, I spoke to Jaime about why he, the judge and mayor want me here...." (Y/n) began, only stopping as Sandor grabbed her hand.

"The Walker gang!" Sandor hissed disdainfully as he gripped (Y/n)'s hand tight, the two still sharing the pain of losing her father and the man Sandor had called his friend.

"Yes....... So, when I left Jaime, I wanted to get a bath and some food, so I went to Miss Ruth's and of course Tyrion and Bronn were there, and that was when a met this Petyr Baelish. Well, to cut a long story short, he has let me have a room, and I was having a bath, and unbeknownst to me, this young girl took my clothes. As soon as I remembered that I hadn't seen you I jumped from the bath and tried to find my things so that I could see you; next thing I know, Baelish is coming into my room with a big fancy dress for me to wear, I told him that you would laugh me outta town if you saw me in a dress, so he got me some of his clothes. And that is why I am dressed up in all this fancy stuff." (Y/n) explained, not liking the murderous look that had fallen over Sandor's features.

"Baelish walked in on ya as you were having a bath? Did he see ya naked? I'm gonna kill him." Sandor snarled, as he jumped to his feet and grabbed his rifle, only to find (Y/n) barring his way.

"Sandor, will you put that damn thing down, before you blow your own foot off. Baelish didn't see me naked; I was covered in a sheet. I am more than sure that Mister Baelish knew exactly what he was doing when he walked into my room, but I assure you that he didn't see anything." (Y/n) said softly, as she cautiously took his favourite Winchester repeater rifle from his hands, and laid it back on the, gently leading him back to his chair.

"Watch him, (Y/n). Ya can't trust that Baelish, ever since he got into town, he's been trying ta make out he's somethin special, been tryin to get in with tha judge and the mayor. He uses his girls ta get information on their clients, uses it against em, he's got more power round ere than ya might think. Ya godfather doesn't like him, doesn't trust him as far as he could throw him, and ya know Varys' instincts are usually right." Sandor warned, as he pulled (Y/n) into his arms.

"I know ya can take care of yaself lass, I know ya dad taught ya well, and I know ya know all that Injun stuff; but it don't mean I don't worry about ya wandering around the plains with only Waya. God only knows what ya pops would think if he knew ya were out workin as a bounty hunter; ya should ave stayed in town, stayed with us." Sandor said as softy as he could, the feel of his strong arms making her feel safe.

(Y/n) couldn't help but smile, no one but her ever saw this side of Sandor. To most he was gruff and scary, his addiction to laudanum, which he would use to kill pain and help him sleep, could make him irritable and restless when he hadn't had the medicine; but to (Y/n) he was her big brother, the one man, other than Waya, that she trusted beyond words, the one man she knew would lay down his life for her.

"Don't worry Sandor, I can tell that Baelish is one of those men you have to watch; that guy has a silver tongue, and even though it might work on others, it most definitely won't work on me. And of course uncle Varys doesn't like him, he may be the best lawyer in the territory, but you know he hates it when he thinks that someone might know more than he does; and if Baelish is using the doves to get information, then Varys will probably think he's missed out on a trick. And I think pop would have been proud of what I do, I know he always wanted me to follow in his footsteps, but I needed something more than Kings Landing, I needed the vast open plains and freedom; as much as I love to see you and the others, I was meant for something other than the confines of this town, and as Robert builds it up even more, the more stifling it becomes, it can feel like a coffin." (Y/n) told him, as she looked up at the big man, her fingers reaching up to brush softly over the scar on his face.

"Now, I have things to discuss with you about the Walker gang; this time I want their scourge wiped out, this time I am going to make sure that it isn't just pa Walker that swings from the gibbet, this time I am going to make sure that the Walker's can't hurt anyone again. So, I want you to help me get word to the boys, I want to get my pops old unit back together." (Y/n) said, as she sat Sandor down, and began to outline her plan to permanently rid Kings Landing, as well as the rest of the west of the Walker gang.
