1: Finally

Breaking News: Schools and colleges to completely open after few weeks as the huge global pandemic finally had its end. Finally! It's the moment we've all been waiting for. No more online classes, and online involved activities as we all can go back to our old lives. Quarantine, has now officially ended all around the world........

I heard the journalist rap causing a loud squeal to escape my lips.

"AM I HEARING RIGHT!?? SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES ARE REOPENING!???" I jumped as my dad laughed before nodding.

"WOOHOOO!!" I ran up to my bedroom, taking my precious baby in my hands aka. my phone.

"BIIIIIIIITCH guess what!" I yelled through the phone as I called my best friend.

"Firstly, I'm not a bitch. Secondly, I knowwww!!" We mini-celebrated before laughing wildly.

"Soooo what's up?" I sat on my bed, exploding with happiness.

"Uhm....nothing. I just came to the mall for some shopping." He spoke as I answered with an 'ooh'.

"What are you gonna buy?" I asked as he chuckled.

"Is it Ryan merchandise? AGaiN?" I asked.

"You know me too well." He stated as we laughed a little.

"Why don't you join me? I just came here like....10 minutes ago. Pleaseee it'll be fuuun." He requested as my smile turned into a tiny frown.

"Joon. You know that's not possible.....my parents would never allow me-"

"Just tryyy please. Tell them I requested." He spoke in a comforting tone.

"Okay. Just one try." I said before putting the phone on speaker mode.

I ran downstairs, noticing my mom doing the dishes in the kitchen.

"Mom....can I please-"

"If it's going out with your friends then no." She cut me off, causing me to heave a silent sigh.

"Please Mrs. Park....let her tag along just this once...." Namjoon's voice echoed through the phone in the kitchen.

"Namjoon, dear you know it's still dangerous to hang out together since the spread of corona just got over. Please understand and enjoy yourself...." My mom spoke as my hand formed into a fist.

"But MOM!?" I spoke a little louder.

She turned to me and her eyes screamed danger as she glared daggers at me.

I mentally rolled my eyes before turning around to leave. It was just so unfair.

"Sorry Joon....I told you." I sighed as I heard him click his tongue.

"I really wanted you to come. I miss you okay." He reminded me as I hummed.

"Yes for the Nth time, I miss you too. We're seeing each other next week, I guess. Don't worry." I smiled as I felt him smile too.

"You're right. Can't wait haha. Seeyaaaa~" He spoke sweetly as I giggled.

"Bye Joon. Also remember to buy me something." I smirked, speaking in a weird voice since I was kidding.

"Yes ma'am." He laughed before a soft beep was heard, indicating he hung up.

I kept the phone on my nightstand, looking outside the window as the sun said goodbye, the sky in a shade of peachy orange.

Usual thoughts invaded my mind.

The past year was a mess, 2021 and 2022 were a bit better as the situations were improving slowly, and now finally it's over in the year 2023. As I hoped, this year's gonna end well.

Covid, not meeting friends, no school, gaining weight, getting depressed due to these reasons together. How much worse could it get?

I felt dead.

Now that school was finally starting, I could breathe again.

As the evening passed by, I did what I usually do.
