So I beenlookingfor a couple that could fit perfectly as the Macdonalds so that's Malcolm and his wife Belinda.
When I woke up the next morning I had so much energy in me and I was super excited,I don't know why but I guess its because I had to start working today,and well I'm super excited most of the time.
I took a shower put on a cute but nice professional dress and did a lil bit of makeup then went down stairs and I saw Belinda already setting the table "good morning Belinda"i said smiling at her,"good morning Alex how are you,your eyes look beautiful today like the blue is alive and vibrant",she said looking directly at me.
"Well thank you Belinda,and yes I'm fine since I'm excited about work today",I said sitting down then she put a plate full of food in front of me," well we excited to have a new fresh face too,glad will be working with you", she said while placing a cup of tea in front of me.
"All this you want to staff me up on my first day I see"i said making a funny face,she then laughed,"you need it cause things get busy and hectic over there,and at times you won't be relaxed to have a good lunch",I agreed with her while digging in.
On cue Malcolm arrived in a rush "good morning everyone whats for breakfast and im late", he grabbed a luch box that was on the table ,a flask full of tea I assumed ,kissed his wife and wished me luck and he hurried out the door saying he was late for a meeting.
Belinda laughed when she saw the shock on my face "well that's how every midweek is like for everyone here will usually catch up at night and weekends as a family", well that answered why everyone was not on the table in the morning.
When we were about to go out a young beautiful woman came in wearing a uniform Belinda introduced me to her as Panashe and she said she was the maid that came in weekly well expect weekends to help with the kids and house chores i said hie to her politely then we were off to work.
On our way Belinda showed me a few areas and told me their names,it was a thirty minute drive to the hospital and it was the biggest hospital i have seen in a long time,you could see a huge sign in big bold letters that said welcome to Harare hospital.
Nurses and doctors were already rushing back and forth so as the patients.We weren't a tad bit late but it was already something else, now I understand why Belinda said I had to really eat in the morning.Belinda told me we were going straight to the administration office where we could meet the head doctor like chief doctor or something there I could get to meet other head doctors and be given instructions and someone to work with till they see that I'm good to start on my own.
That's when a woman with blood all over her body came screaming behind a man who was in a streacher "save my baby please I don't want him to die!!!", I moved aside since i was a bit In the way of the doctors who were rushing inside when by mistake i brushed the hand of the man on the stretcher.I felt the heat radiating from my inner core rushing all over my body in full force and instantly I was drawn to him.
Doctor MacDonald (Belinda)joined the other doctors in a rush and told me be taken to the break room by a guy named Steven but at the time I don't know what took over me,its like I felt the man's pain and i knew exactly where he was injured and everything in me told me to help him so I ignored Steven's calls and rushed to where I thought they were taking him,busting through the door I said very loudly "stop stop you not doing it the right way", everyone looked at me in shock but I didn't care it was in the middle of the operation room and I was about to save a life.
I called a nurse with the utensils and started picking up random niddles and a small knife I put small three niddles on his left arm and three on his waist line then cut the flesh under his ribcage a little,put a bit pressure on this wound then green liquid started to come out,I took alcohol clean the wound,stitched it then removed the needles and took a bucket and some ice cold water took a towel and wiped up his wound and forehead then the monitor that was beeping so fast slowed down to a normal rate.
After finishing all this and turning around and seeing everyone look at me with a look of shock that's when reality kicked in,I had gone against the rules to save a man I didn't know but felt a strong pull towards him how would I explain to everyone this crazy messed up shit,what would the team I will work with think of me now,the woman who accompanied him outside,the head doctors,what will I of them think of me I thought to myself.
That's when a tear slipped down my cheek and I knew I had messed up and i definitely don't know why but I have never acted like this before towards anyone and I didn't know if me working here was still going to be accepted.
