chapter 41

Beam's pov:

He seems to be contemplating something in his mind. 

His frown turned into a sad expression. 

"Forth? What's wrong?" I finally asked. 

Well...... 

"Tell me." I urged him. 

Ria and i talked about me learning sign language when we were in her office two weeks ago.

"And?" I tilted my head. 

I remembered that the doctor had told me i would be able to talk if i went to a speech therapist. 

I blinked profusely. 

"That's great news!" 

But that was when i was 7. I don't know if it's still possible....

"Only one way to find out." I smiled and took my phone. 

"Hey Beamie." Mom answered after the second ring. 

"Hey mom. Listen i have a favor to ask." 

"What is it?" 

"Forth just told me the doctor had told him that he would be able to talk if he went to a speech therapist." 

"Really?! That's great!" 

"But that was when he was only 7. So we want to check if it's still possible." 

"I'll talk to Dr. Tee and let you know when you guys can come in for a check up." 

"Great. Thanks mom. Love you. Bye."

"No problem. He's also my son now. Love you both. Bye." 

Forth was looking at me with eyes full of hope. 

"She said she'll talk to Dr. Tee who's a otolaryngologist and let us know when we can come in for a check up." I smiled. 

He nodded. 

"Hey lunch is ready." Uncle Mark came in. 

We went downstairs and sat at the dining table. 

Uncle Mark had made spaghetti Bolognese and chocolate milkshake. 

Forth was looking at the milkshake excitedly. 

Uncle mark had texted me and asked what his favourite drink was this morning. 

I guess this is why. 

"This is the first time i've made milkshake. Try it tell me how it tastes." He smiled. 

Forth took a sip. His eyes immediately lit up. 

"Is it good?" Uncle Mark asked. 

He nodded vigorously.

We chuckled and started eating. 

Mom called me just as we finished eating.

"Hey mom." I answered it. 

"Hey Beam. Dr. Tee said you can bring him in at 3 o'clock this evening." She said.

I looked at my watch. 

1:30. 

"Ok we'll be there." 

"Make sure to call me and tell me what he says ok?" 

"Yes ma'am." 

I hung up. 

I looked at Forth.
