Chapter Twenty-Three

A few hours later:

"Kat?" Rhye gently called as he open Kat's door.

"Sweetheart?" he called.

She stretched and forced her deep green eyes open.

"Hey beautiful. Do you feel like eating?" he asked.

She nodded and he helped her in her chair.

"Baby girl?" Max called.

Lexi squirmed in her seat.

"Lexi." he called again.

She frowned and opened her brown eyes.

"Would you like something to eat?" he asked as he unbuckled her seat belt.

"Yes please."

"Come on then love."

"Caitlin?" Taylor called softly.

"No." she answered as she rolled over in the truck seat.

"Caitlin Marie!" he sang.

"More sleep." she protested making everyone chuckle.

"How about some food?" Taylor asked.

"Onion rings?" she asked.

"If you would like." he said.

"Ok." she mumbled as she sleepily drug herself out of Rhye's truck.

The six of them walked into the restaurant  and were quickly seated.

"Where are we?" Kat asked.

"In a restaurant." Lexi answered.

"I know that crazy!" Kat giggled.

"Valdosta!" Caitlin sang. She recognized the road signs.

"Do you girls know why we are here?" Rhye asked. His heart was beating in anticipation and he prayed Kat would like her surprise.

"No?" they answered all at once.

"We are here because we are going to "Wild Adventures." All the men chimed in.

"The amusement park?" Caitlin squealed.

"Yes!"

"I am not hungry, let's go!" Katrina said reaching for her purse- which was adorably shaped like a panda.

"Woah there love, you have to eat!" Rhye reminded.

"No. Lets eat there!" she squealed.

Rhye smiled softly, he was thankful she liked the present, but she still had to eat.

"Eat and I promise we can go. We have plenty of time."

Katrina frowned and rolled her eyes, but placed her order anyway. .

After the longest hour of the girls life, it was finally time to go. They squealed with excitement as they loaded into the truck.

"How long until we get there?" Lexi asked.

"about thirty minutes." Max said as he set the GPS.

"That's a really long time!" Caitlin said. "It's like a hundred years."

"I think you can make it." Taylor laughed.

"I don't think she can." Max teased her.

"I don't think your face can!" Katrina retorted on behalf of her friend.

"You don't think my face can what?" Max asked smiling.

"Be handsome!" Lexi said.

"Y'all are calling me ugly?" Max asked in mock horror.

"We'll were not calling you pretty!" Caitlin said as she stuck her tongue out.

Max fell over in his seat, gripping his heart as he fell. "You have wounded me to my core."

"This is going to be a long ride." Tyler mumbled with a hint of amusement.The women were wired, hyper, and silly- leading to a very serious case of the giggles.

Rhye smiled but he didn't mind. He was thankful God was creating great memories!
