Chapter Twenty-Four

Katrina, Caitlin, and Lexi all squealed with glee as the ride slung them around,

Max, Tyler, and Taylor all stood watching with huge grins plastered on their faces.

"Would you like to go again?" The operator asked.

"Yes please." Caitlin spoke for the group.

"Yes ma'am." the older conductor said with a smile.

"Thank you." Rhye mouthed to him and he nodded.

The park was not crowded today and the girls (and occasionally) the guys had been able to ride pretty freely.

"How many times does that make Rhye?" Max asked.

"Four." Tyler said as he watched Lexi with a smile.

"They are having a blast." Joe said as he walked up.

"Glad you could make it man." Rhye said as he shook Joe's hand.

"Would have been here sooner, but I had a flat this morning." he apologized.

Rhye waved him off. "No problem."

"How is she doing?" Joe asked, ignoring Max trying to make faces at him behind Rhye's back.

"Great. She is having so much fun."

"I think all of them are." Taylor said.

The men nodded. A few minutes later the ride came to a stop.

"Katrina why don't we get something to eat baby?" Rhye yelled across the lot. It had been several hours since their stop.

He could see the disappointment on her face, but she agreed. His heart pulled at her action. He prayed one day she would trust him enough to voice her feelings instead of doing as he asked all the time. It was like she felt she needed to be obedient to him and that wasn't what he wanted at all.

"I promise we can come back to this ride."

"Okay." She nodded, looking happier.

Rhye smiled. It made him happy to see her so happy.

"Hi Joe!" Kat waved when she saw the older man.

"Hello darlin'"

"What are you doing here?" Caitlin asked as she hugged him.

"I thought I would come hang out with three pretty women."

The girls giggled and blushed. Rhye found his heart melting for the hundredth time today.

"Would you like some pizza honey?" Rhye asked.

She nodded and he headed off to place his order.

"What would you like kiddo?" Max asked Lexi.

"A hamburger please."

He nodded.

"And you?" Taylor asked Caitlin.

"I can get my own."

"No, I can get it." He said as he playfully pulled her hair.

She sighed and he mimicked her, making her giggle.

"Corn dog please?"

He nodded.

"Are you going to eat?" Kat asked Tyler.

"I think I am still full from lunch." he said rubbing his belly.
