{Mathias' POV}

As I sat next to Rose, I couldn't help but stare at our joined hands and the ring that sat on her left hand. She was mine, forever and always. Having a wedding may have sounded silly to her considering that we were already married, but I couldn't help but want to do it the right way.

When Rose first confessed to me of why she wanted the bond of mates so bad, I promised I would do just that. She wanted to be loved, to witness how much someone could love her, and so much more.

I'll give you it all, Rosemarie. Everything you'd dream of, I had told her. The words were fresh on my mind.

I was scared she would see the full lycan and me and run the other way, feeling rejection was her way out but it was the complete opposite. She saw my flaws and how sometimes it was hard to control all the anger in me, but she stayed and showed me that even I could be loved.

So, I pushed for an actual wedding, I pushed for so much because I know deep down, that's what she has dreamed of, just as I had. Rosemarie isn't one to ask for much, she is happy with just the littlest of things, and it's one of the things I admire about her, but I knew this was something she'd enjoy.

Now, we currently sat at our reception enjoying the laughter and smiles that surrounded us.

"This is nice," Rose mumbled, laying her head on my shoulder.

"It is..." I replied, looking around at our family and friends.

"Mathias?"

"Hm?"

"You know how you said 'thank you for saving me'? What'd you mean by that?" She asked and I sighed, giving her hand a small squeeze.

"Exactly that. Each day I fell a little more in the darkness that surrounded me and clouded my mind. If I'm being honest, I don't know if I'd be here today without you, Rose." Her head snapped up, looking at me with slightly wide eyes.

"You don't mean...?" She started... her voice trailing off and I had to look away.

"Everyone hated me and despised me without even knowing a damn thing about me. Yeah, I was a little rough around the edges, but who could blame me? I was hated before I was even born. Do you know what it's like to get death threats at such a young age? It's torture. I thought... maybe if I just.. went away the pain would end."

I glanced back at her to see the tears pooling in her eyes. "Mathias..." She croaked. "That's never the answer."

"I know, and it's also why I am dedicating a lot of my time in the future to troubled teens. I know what it's like to not value your life and no one should feel that way. Everyone is loved and everyone is important. Each and every individual person makes a difference in the world, I'm just upset it took me so long to realize that."

"You'd tell me, right? If you ever had those thoughts again?" She practically pleaded and I gave her a small smile.

"I would... but I won't have them anymore because I'm happy and loved and I know that whatever I was feeling at the time was just evil surrounding me. I won't let evil win again, Rose. It's just me and you together forever."

She leaned up, placing a soft kiss on my lips. "I love you, Mathias."

"I know, and I love you too. Always."

She placed her head on my shoulder again. "Would you like to dance, love?" I asked and she giggled.

"I would love to."

She moved, letting me stand up, and I held my hand out where she softly placed hers in mine. We walked out to where everyone else was slow dancing and I pulled her to me as we fell into rhythm with the song.

"Mathias?"

"Hm?"

"If I told you that I think I'm pregnant, how would you react?"

I quickly pulled back, looking her over with a shocked look. "What?!"

She giggled, stepping closer to me like she didn't want anyone to hear. "I didn't notice until they served us food and I suddenly felt sick again. I thought when I was nervous before the wedding and felt sick that it was just the nervousness but I don't think it is. I mean... we've slept together a lot recently." She blushed.

"What...I... holy shit," I mumbled and she smiled.

"I don't know if it's true, because I could be overthinking but it's possible, isn't it? I mean... it's been weeks since the first time and then a lot—" I stopped her rambling with a belch of laughter.

"Rose, yes... It's possible." I laughed and she rolled her eyes.

"You know what I meant." She grumbled, folding her arms.

"I do... but before we get our hopes us, don't you think you need to take a test... see your doctor?"

"Probably..." She spoke sheepishly.

"In the meantime, no drinking and take it slow alright? Just to be on the safe side." I reminded.

"Of course." She agreed and I pulled her back to me.

"Now, let's just enjoy our night together. We just got married after all. Babies can come later." I winked and she scoffed.

"Are you not excited? This could be big news!"

"I'm very excited, but as I said, we shouldn't get our hopes us until you take a test. In reality, I don't want to get my hopes us because this is huge for us, and if I start thinking I'm about to have a kid you're going to see a side of protective you've never seen from me... I don't think you want that on the night of our wedding." I joked.

She thought it over and quickly nodded. "Yeah, you're right, let's get back to dancing."

I chuckled, wrapping my arms around her waist and softly pulled her back to me. "Although, if it's true. I can't wait." I have her a soft kiss on the lips.

"Now you're definitely stuck with me." She teased and I faked sadness.

"Damn, I was about to run out the door."

"I know, I saw it in your eyes."

"You really got me in a pickle here." I mused.

She shook her head, her chest vibrating with laughter. "Goddess, I love you, Mathias."

And that's what keeps me going.
