I watched Levi pull up Petra’s chin and slowly lower his lips to hers from the window of the corridor facing the courtyard. Everything blurred as tears filled my eyes, and my heart hurt as if I’d just been stabbed. I knew it… I’d never be good enough for Levi, why was I so naïve! Beautiful, clever, talented Petra had had his heart all along. Clearly he’d just been playing with me, he probably made jokes about it with his friends every night, laughing at me. He’d been drunk that night we’d slept together, I was foolish to think that that meant Levi loved me… A sob escaped from my throat, tearing at my throat, then I turned and fled back along the corridor.
