"Adrian... how long have you been dealing with this?" I asked him worried
"A long time," Adrian replied without looking at me
"And you've never told anyone?" I asked him with raised eyebrows
Adrian shook his head, "Not until now."
"Adrian this is serious though, why didn't you tell anyone?" I asked him
Adrian shrugged his shoulders "Because it feels useless to tell anyone," Adrian replied still avoiding eye contact with me
"No it's not useless, there's always people that are going to be there for you to help you with the situation," I told him sincerely
Adrian finally lifted his head up to look up, "Then why haven't you told anyone about the bullies you've been enduring for so many years?" Adrian asked me
I shook my head, "No that's different, my friends all know about it, it's not like I kept it a secret people are actually aware I'm being bullied, while you did keep it a secret," I told Adrian in a serious tone
Adrian pursed his lips before saying, "Well I'm telling you now,"Adrian said with no emotions that I knew he was clearly hiding how he truly felt
"Would you mind telling me when this first started?" I asked him
"It's been going on ever since I was kid," Adrian responded with no emotion
Since he was a kid? For that long and he never said anything?
"If you don't mind me asking though... what about your mom?" I asked Adrian curiously, "And do you ever plan on telling anyone else about this situation? I think maybe you should."
"My mom and dad had so many problems together, they were constantly fighting and my dad was also horrible to my mom and she couldn't take it anymore so she left," Adrian answered expressionless not answering my other question
Adrian sure was good at covering up his emotions.
"I know deep down my mom did love me and cared for me but not enough to fight for me whenever my father... you know..." Adrian told me
"Don't you also have a little sister? Your dad doesn't do anything to your sister right?" I asked him worried
"My dad has tried to and threatened to but I always take step in to protect her so it I just end up getting the "punishment" for her," Adrian explained to me
Immediately I quickly embraced Adrian in a hug shocking him, "I'm sorry you've had to deal with this for so long," I told him feeling sad
Adrian shook his head, "I appreciate that but you don't have to be sorry, this has nothing to do with you."
"I know but that doesn't change the fact that I feel bad," I said not letting go of him, he wasn't hugging me back but I didn't care becaue it was him that needed comfort right now not me
Adrian smiled a bit, "Well... thank you Mei, I appreicate your concern for me," Adrian said awkwardly placing his head on my shoulder, "I'm sorry... I'm just not the best when it comes to affection."
I laughed lightly, "That's okay, you don't have to apologize," I told him, "And thank you for trusting me enough to tell me all of that, I know it's probably not easy to talk about," I sighed
Adrian gave me an appreciative look, "Thank you for being there for me, and again I'm sorry if I make you uncomfortable I'm just a distant person I'm not really use to affectionate," Adrian said to me
"Adrian I already told you that you have nothing to be sorry for, I understand and it's okay, not everyone is an affectionate person and that's completely fine, everyone is different," I replied in a reassuring tone, "And I apologize if I ever make you feel uncomfortable by being too affectionate," I told him in an apologetic tone, "I'm an affectionate person but I want you to feel comfortable around me so just tell me if i'm ever making you feel uncomfortable and I'll make sure to restrain myself."
