Princess Y/n has a line of suitors wanting her hand in marriage, but she has a dark secret that has come back to haunt her.

-

Days like this were always the worst. When suitor after suitor walked into the throne room, asking to marry me. I never went to meet any of them, always shaking my head when my lady in waiting came to me. In the beginning, I met them and politely said no but after a few weeks, I started hiding in the library trying to get away from everyone not even bothering to see them.

Currently, I was in the back of the library re-reading the same line over again, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't process the words in my head. I couldn't think, something felt off and I could do anything. Three suitors had already come today and I knew my father was growing impatient for me to choose a husband.

I angrily closed the book and stood up, walking back to my room, I couldn't take any more of this, it felt like I had no say in my life and it was angering me. I made it up to the sixth level of the castle without running into anybody, but as I turned the corner I ran into my brother, Will.

"Woah, y/n where are you going?" He said as I tried to move around him.

"My room," I gave a short answer and he looked at me questioningly, blocking me.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" He said and I took a deep breath in.

"Because I want to! Now please let me go!" My outburst didn't shock him and I tried to move around him again. I sighed, "I'm sorry, I just want to be alone right now," I looked up at him and he nodded and stepped to the side, letting me go.

"Father says you have to pick a suitor soon, I'm sorry y/n," He shouted down the hall, I didn't turn around and kept walking towards my room.

I closed the door to my room quickly and leaned my head against it, the warm wood didn't provide any relief to my pain and I turned around, a wave of new anger coursing through me. Anger at my father, my mother, the Hollands who we were at war with. As I walked farther into my room something, in particular, caught my eye: a jacket. I definitely don't own that kind of jacket, it was made for a boy and from the most expensive tailor in all of the kingdoms. My heart started to beat fast, all traces of anger gone, replaced only by fear.

My eyes scanned the room, nothing was out of place, until my eyes landed on the door to the balcony. They were opened and the sunlight was streaming in the room. Outside, leaning against the railing, was Tom Holland.

If my heart wasn't beating fast before, it was now. It felt like my world stopped. Hundreds of thoughts were running through my head the main ones being How did he get into my room? And, What's he doing here? He must have heard me come in because he turned around, a smirk on his face.

"Well, if it isn't the princess," He took a step forward, and I took one back. He was wearing a white dress shirt that was tucked into black dress pants, he wore expensive dress shoes to match, everything a prince would wear, except his hair, which was messy. He stopped and just stared at me, the smirk still on his face.

"What are you doing here?" My voice was barely above a whisper and I was afraid he wouldn't be able to hear me.

"What am I doing here?" He asked almost sarcastically, his evil smirk gone, replaced with a look of madness in his eyes. "You left me," he took another step and so did I, I was running out of space between me and the bed.

"I couldn't stay, you know that," I said taking another few steps as he moved closer.

"And somehow, I still don't believe it," My back hit the bedpost and I inhaled, Tom stood right in front of me, practically chest to chest. Scared, I looked away. Terrified to look him in the eyes and see the anger. Suddenly, my head was pulled harshly to look at him, his hand was gripping my jaw, forcing me to look.

"You ran," he whispered.

"But you don't run from me."
