Royce believes the world he once grew up in wasn't the same anymore because it changes and shifts every day. Nothing was permanent after all.
It was still dull and suffocating at times when images from the past find their way back in his head and mess him up but now Royce had Nathan to brighten his days and bring all kinds of colours into his life.
He was doing better than before and most importantly, he was in a good place mentally and physically.
The people in this world were still messed up and it was never easy facing homophobic little shits but over the last few years Royce had gained a lot of confidence and he refuses to take any sort of hate just for being himself.
It was really tragic how this world seemed to be working but as screwed up as it may appear from the surface, he was a part of it and after a tiring day, Royce gets to come back home and be with the guy he was madly in love with.
Royce stopped believing in this world a long time ago but he still got some hope for it.
