Chapter 19: The Helios Space Station

Y/N POV

A short time after we defaced the Meriff's statue, the other members of our team returned from their own mission. Now if you remember, they were sent by Jack to build a robot army. I assume they had achieved that task.

We all met up again in Moxxi's bar. Jack, our team along with Roland and Lilith whom I assumed, Moxxi was able to convince into helping us, were all gathered around the counter which Moxxi was stood behind.

After the other members of the team returned Jack addressed them saying,  "Hmm. Here's where it gets fun." He rewarded the others for their task as Moxxi said "I stashed some loot away for a special occasion, guess this qualifies. Help yourselves."

We went into the back and found a chest full of some interesting goodies. I got a neat laser gun out of it named Miss Moxxi's Vibra-Pulse. I certainly looked like it could do some damage.

After getting what we could, we returned to Jack who began to give us a speech. "Alright, here we go everybody. The Jamming Signal's down, we've got a robot army and it's time to get back to Helios and turn off that death-laser. Roland and Lilith turned to Jack's team saying "Roland and I will head up with you guys and provide support."

I addressed them "I will also help to the best of my ability. I don't know what opposition to expect." Moxxi then added "And I'll be cheerin' you on from the cozy confines of this cantina." Jack finally said "I dunno how hairy things have gotten up there so, be prepared for anything."

As we made our way towards the Fast Travel machine, the laser once again fired at the moon and Roland spoke "If we don't shut that laser down soon, we can kiss this whole moon goodbye." Lilith added "See you on the other side kiddos." Jack finally said "Let's be heroes." They all activated the Fast Travel and disappeared.

I approached the machine and activated it before saying "Onwards!" And with that I also vanished as each of the Vault Hunters followed after me.

When I arrived I was confused to see that there was no one else around. Soon I got Echoed by Roland asking "Where is everybody?" Lilith then said "Crap. I think we're on the other side of Helios."

I looked around before noticing a sign and saying "I seem to be somewhere called 'Weapons Manufacturing'?" Jack finally exclaimed "Crap! Looks like the fast travel split us all up. Doesn't change the plan though. Get to the Eye of Helios command centre, shut the laser down WITHOUT damaging it, save the moon and be hailed as a Hero forever. Sound good? Course it does."

I decided it would be best to see if I could find my way to where this Eye of Helios was. However while I was walking around I received an Echo from that Zarpedon woman from earlier, the one who was currently trying to blow up Elpis. She said the following.

"Attention Colonel Y/N Knoxx, this is Colonel Zarpedon. I don't know what Jack or his Vault Hunters have told you but there is more going on here than you may realize. I offer you one chance to turn around right now and leave, no harm will come to you."

I calmly responded "I will have to decline. You are trying to blow up a literal moon full of people, even for me that's too far." Zarpedon reluctantly stated "Fine. Have it your way." Before signing off. I swear there was something not quite right about that woman. Other than the fact she was trying to blow up a moon.

Almost as soon as she signed off, I heard a voice yell "Vault Hunter sighted take em out!" I turned around and saw a couple of soldiers wearing Dahl Military attire, I assume these were the so called Lost Legion I had heard so much about.

They began firing at me with a variety of Dahl weapons, ranging from Pistols to Assault Rifles to SMGs to even Laser guns. I quickly got behind cover to shield myself from the line of fire. Eventually however, I decided to give my new laser I got from Moxxi's a little test run.

I peeped out and fired it, watching as the blue beam streamed out and hit one of the soldiers, killing him instantly. I was surprised at how powerful the laser was but soon I grinned before firing at the other Lost Legion Marines and had similar results. 

I proceeded along, determined to reach the Eye of Helios soon as I was met with more resistance from the Lost Legion Marines. Plowing through them was easy and as someone who lead a paramilitary organization myself, it was kind of embarrassing how quick the soldiers went down. Things did get more interesting when I was attacked by a few Badass Marines.

Regardless with my new Laser gun I was able to take them out with only a little more effort. At some point I received new orders from Jack to meet at his office, rather than heading straight to the Eye of Helios.

I figured it would be best to listen and make my way to the office which according to Jack's directions wasn't too far away from the Weapons Manufacturing area where I ended up from the Fast Travel.

There were a number of Lost Legion Marines located between here and Jack's office. However with my new laser, even the Badass soldiers weren't much of a problem. And eventually I found myself in the Hub of Heroism.

I went over to the lift, ignoring the dead Claptrap on the ground and entered it. I pushed the button as the elevator went up.

I swear Helios was a fascinating place.
