major spoilers for deaths wish in this chapter, if you're planning to read deaths wish, i'd recommend to skip till the divide (this thing ¤━━━¤)

i'd recommend reading at least the last chapter and the epilogue of deaths wish.

if not you're not planning to, that's completely fine and you can just enjoy this chapter as it is

this chapter is jisung focused, but the next couple will be mainly focussed on hyejin and chenle

and i promise, i'll include some fluff soon sjbsjshdjsg

you're like the summer without heat

¤━━━¤

the atmosphere was deadly, weighed down like a thousand bricks against a feather. the sun barely able to beat as it hid away behind the solemn clouds that floated aimlessly along the dimming skies. a masterpiece created by the hands of god, was displayed in the sky like a historical work in a museum, wrapping them around in the orange and pink ribbons.

it was a beautiful melancholy

walking alongside chenle, dressed in robes of black, they entered the building that housed many deceased souls.

despite hyejin not knowing the slightest about the girl jisung's constantly mentioning, she still felt that pinch of sadness as she walked down the polished floor, listening to the cries and hollows pleading for resurrection

"this is what i felt like those three years" chenle kept his voice down as they passed a woman and a man, knelt on a cushion as they mourned

she chewed on her lips, glancing downwards "oh". she suddenly could imagine all the pain chenle would've gone through, mindlessly thinking his life was crashing down on him while she danced around with little care. she's changed, and she's learnt.

she dug her hands in her pocket, the clothing itchy against her skin but it was the least she could wear to a funeral. there weren't many girl clothes with nct, and she had to resort to going all the way back to her college to borrow something from yun.

she wished she could've spent more time with yun, but with time constraints, she could only give her a quick greeting and thanks before rushing over here.

she lifted her head, eyes tracing over the tall body in front of her

"i wish i could do something to help him" she sighed, chenle nodding along without a response. jisung sat in the depths of sadness recently, as nct was needing to dig up a lot of his backstory to aid in inhos background research. there was nothing he can do, and a porcelain boy can only hold on for so long before he breaks

all of a sudden, jisung stopped walking, causing hyejin to almost ram into him. he blinked once, twice, adjusting his focus before taking another step forward, but in a faster pace

"jisung" she placed a hand on his shoulder, but his eyes were still in front of him

"She's here" His voice trailed off, his footsteps getting faster

"are you sure?" chenle asked, trying to hold him back from doing something impulsive when jisung whipped around to face him "Shes here chenle, she's here"
