Geneviève's POV.

Almost a month slipped by since Dillon's mother admission yet the words lingered in my head almost hauntingly on a daily basis as though it were a threat instead of what my heart had desperately wanted to hear.

"Genny... Geneviève..." Calvin repeated, "Are you listening to me?" He questioned pulling me out from my thoughts.

"I'm sorry Cal." I apologized, "I was distracted."

"Is everything alright?" He asked in a much softer tone.

"I have a lot on my mind." I confided telling him half the truth, "Can you repeat what you were saying?"

"Everything is going accordingly to plan." He stated enthusiastically, "But the event planning company we hired for the gala is closing for three weeks in the New Year so I went ahead and confirmed the date for the December 23th." He said, "Is that alright?" He asked for confirmation, "I know that the timing is two weeks away but we can do it."

"Do we have items to auction?" I asked.

"We have a couple offers...yes." He replied, "But your grandmother's necklace was double the original price so it would be enough to cover the overall cost of the project as well as the gala while we have enough funds in the bank to last us for a while into the future."

"That's great news." I replied.

"Are you sure it is?" He questioned through the phone, "Because it sounded as though someone told you your puppy died."

A weary laugh escaped my throat as he continued on, "Is that a laugh I hear?" He asked in a light teasing voice.

"It is." I replied trying to sound upbeat, "I'll talk to you soon Cal."

And with that I ended the call just as Dillon strolled into the bedroom dressed comfortably in a pair of long sweat pants and a tight fitted white cotton v neck. His damp hair and heady scent of citrus and sandalwood and his rich cologne belied he had taken a shower after his regular Saturday morning football game with his friends. A lazy smile kissed the corners of his mouth as he strolled leisurely towards the bed.

"Good morning." He greeted placing a soft bite against my ear.

"I believe it is lunch time." I gasped out as he climbed atop the bed pushing me down with him. Settling his weight onto his forearms his eyes searched mine as his lower body pressed into me making me acutely aware of his growing desire. Still dressed in the silk slip blue nightgown, my hardening nipples were easily visible to the eye as my body instantly responded to him.

"Is everything alright?" He questioned seriously despite his aroused body.

Nodding I widened my legs as he settled between me, his manhood pressing against my heated core.

"You make an awful liar angel." He replied in an even tone though I saw the spark of anger that flashed in his mesmerizing eyes.

"I...I'm telling the truth." I said in a voice just below a whisper as desire swirled within me. Both our chests heaved as moisture pooled between my legs. The hint of my breast peeked out distracting him for a mere second as his darkened eyes flickered back up to mine.

"Don't make me get it out of you Geneviève." He whispered hoarsely though the hint of the threat was there as his hands danced across my legs tortuously moving higher to the naked spot between my legs. A whimper escaped my throat as his finger parted the slick flesh soaking his hand in moisture. A low groan emerged from his mouth as he bent down tugging the slip lower with his teeth as my breast appeared. Dragging in a nipple into his hot mouth he gently bit the bud before soothing it with a few licks of his tongue.
