Geneviève's POV.

"You look beautiful Gen." Stella commented over my shoulder as we stared at my reflection in the mirror, "Like a winter angel."

Blinking away the tears that suddenly stung my eyes at Dillon's endearment; I gave her a watery smile as I looked at myself pleased with my appearance. The dove grey ball gown made me feel like a whimsical princess. The sleeveless bodice had a deep v neckline that modestly showed a hint of my cleavage with a cinched waistline covered in thick crystal leaves before flowing downwards to a Cinderella like skirt. The entire dress was covered in the matching leafy jewels and flowers with white feathers to the bottom incorporating the winter wonderland theme. My brown hair shone under the light in its soft up do showing of a romantic look as a few tendrils escaped curling against my neck. Stella flawlessly applied my makeup, giving my eyes a smoky look and a touch of a glossy pinkish nude lipstick to my lips. For the first time after many days I felt like I was beautiful.

"Thank you Stella." I said meeting her eyes in the mirror, "As do you and thank you again for the dress."

"Gen!" She said playfully rolling her eyes, "I should be the one thanking you but please stop expressing gratitude over the dress. I think it was high time we use some of Nathaniel's money." She giggled as the tension lines which had first appeared now eased as she had officially filed for divorce. Not a word was heard from Nathaniel since he had signed the paper with the agreement to leave a respectable fortune in her account, an offer by his own doing. The white form fitting long sleeve dress she wore accentuated her slim figure with its cowl neck dipping down to her lower back. Her shiny blond hair was slick and straightened tucked neatly behind her ear with her modest makeup and ruby red lips.

"Are you ready?" She asked grabbing our coats as I followed behind her to the awaiting taxi.

"As I'll ever be." I replied tampering down the bout of nerves that threatened to consume me as the car pulled up outside the hotel. Ignoring the flash of cameras, Calvin's smiling face greeted us and he bypassed security holding out an arm as we each graciously accepted it.

"Such a gentleman Cal." Stella said as he led us into the ballroom.

"You both have outdone yourselves." I complimented as I in-took the splendor of the room.

The high ceiling was covered by sheer draperies holding together fairy lights that gave the illusion of the night sky. Large round tables were neatly placed covered in a sparkled white table cover with a vase containing long white painted branches to depict the snow. Small lit candles took its individual place next to the plates and cutlery setting and the selection of wine and champagne glasses chosen was nothing short of crystal elegance. A large Christmas tree took its place to the side of the stage festively decorated as guests placed their gifts for the children below. Lights beamed across the dance floor in the middle of the room depicting large snowflakes as a band took their place on stage singing well-known holiday songs.

"We can't take all the credit Genny." Calvin replied grinning at me as he collected three glasses of champagne from the passing waiter, "The bar is stocked, the food is good, the appetizers are divine and more importantly we'll raise a lot of money because of you."

Mingling around for a bit, the master of ceremony suddenly took to the stage as the loud murmur of conversation immediately reduced and everyone took their seats.

"Who is that?" Stella loud whispered to Calvin across from me as we sat to the front.

"My cousin Derek." He answered, "He's an up and coming dj...great with the crowd just trust me."
