"Murph you look... you look beautiful" Blaise stutters as he watches me walk down the stairs from the girl's dorm. I was dressed in a royal blue strappy cocktail dress, and had my hair messily pinned up. I wasn't in the mood for the party especially with everything going on, I still hadn't told Harry about what I had known about Malfoy, I couldn't confirm his suspicions, even in regard to Katie, mostly because I felt somewhat responsible. The only thing just as worse than doing evil is seeing evil being done and not saying anything, or stopping it. If Harry knew I had known about Malfoy for two whole months, he would never speak or trust me again and I wouldn't blame him.

"You clean up good yourself Zabini" I say playfully approaching him forcing a smile.

"Is everything okay? You look worried" He says looking at me intently.

"I'm fine really, I'm just a little distracted tonight that's all" I say trying to sound convincing.

The party was being held on the seventh floor, I couldn't help but think about the room of requirement, as we passed the familiar tapestry, I looked back at the bare wall wondering if he was in there. As much as I knew I should have hated him with every fibre of my body, especially after what he did to Katie, I couldn't. Thinking back to the room I remembered how I declared I was his, how I would always be his no matter what happened, and it was true, here I was still caring about a death eater who cursed my friend.

I grabbed hold of Blaise's hand in need of comfort, his fingers linked through mine holding it back tightly, it felt good. As we turned around the corner hearing laughter and voices from the party, we turn to find Malfoy walking towards us.

He stops in his tracks and sees us together, his eyes glancing back and forth between me and my hand in Blaise's. I could see his fist clench and his face turn into a sneer, I knew he hated seeing me with Blaise, but I didn't care.

"Malfoy, you here for the party?" Blaise says as we approach him.

"No I have more pressing matters than a stupid Christmas party" he growls still staring at me.

I couldn't stand being around him any longer, I push past him pulling Blaise with me and storm  into the party, almost making him stumble. I didn't look back to see if he was still there.

As we walk in we are greeted by Slughorn immediately, "ahh Zabini and Murphy, always together I see" he says cheerfully.

"Thanks for having us Professor" I say politely.

"Shall we get a drink" Blaise says gesturing towards the drinks table. I follow him, and see Neville passing around food on a platter dressed rather funny actually. I smiled at him, he offered me an ashamed look as he continued to make his rounds.

"So where are your Gryffindor pals" Blaise says mockingly.

"You know, if you want to really be my friend, you are going to have to start associating with people that aren't in Slytherin" I say shoving him playfully.

"I don't mind Hufflepuffs" Blaise says with a laugh, making me chuckle, it felt good to genuinely laugh again. I then see Harry and Luna enter, it was nice of him to invite her, she always stood out in a crowd, which was probably why Cherry fancied her. Harry smiles at us and waves us over. I hadn't spoken to him since the incident with Katie, I couldn't face him. I look back at Blaise curiously,

"Blaise" I begin saying

"Murphy" he replies back confused

"Where do you stand on the return of... you know who" I say bluntly.

Blaise almost chokes on his drink letting out a cough, "Where did this come from?" he says clearing his throat.

"I'm sorry I know this isn't something many people like to talk about, but I was just curious" I say to him
