Zephyr sat in that locked room, powerless and wings in pain just staring out the window. Misa would come in to give her breakfast at 8, that was her window to set the plan into motion.

"Alright, remember we're only keeping you fed because you can't die and if you're comatose you can't help us"

8:00.

Zephyr turned to face Misa, who held a plain bowl of cereal. Zephyr took it from her, but before Misa could leave she spoke up.

"Misa... why are you doing this?" She asked.

"Feeding you? What you wanna starve?"

"No... going along with Lights plan"

"He punished the robber that killed my parents. I'm in debt to him, I love him" Misa said.

"But he treats you horribly"

Misa was silent for a moment.

"I told him he could use me, but I made him fall in love with me. He's just a bit stern that's all" she said.

"Stern? Ignoring you unless he needs something is stern. If he really loved you, he'd show it" zephyr said, eating a spoonful of her cereal.

"He does... he's just busy. Why are you bringing this up? Are you trying to break us up?"

"Misa, I'm a goddess that works with love and relations. I know when I see a man that doesn't show enough recognition. If he really loved you he'd prove it"

Misa gave her a suspicious look. She knew not to trust their hostage but she did claim to be a goddess what works with love. Light nor Misa actually knew she was a fertility goddess, zephyr had only said 'I work with love'.

"Prove it? How?" She questioned.

Yes, this was working. Everyone watching the case knew that Misa was brainwashed by light into all this. Yes she did seek him out first but she's just lovesick and traumatised from her parents death. Deep down all she wants is to be loved, and she's found false refuge in light. If a 'love' goddess is talking about her relationship with him, she's going to listen weather she is meant to or not.

"He'd show you more physical affection. You should be more important than the death note. Anyone would think he's secretly fucking that damn book. You are his goddess aren't you?" Zephyr said.

"He's just not that touchy"

"What about words of affirmation then? Gift giving? Any of the five love languages?"

Misa was silent, zephyr was right.

"Look. As much as I don't want you using my sacred objects... it's painful for a love goddess to have to watch this dead love life between you both. My orchid makes people feel more lovey dovey when you touch it. And if you play my lyre in a certain way it does the same thing. If I tell you the chords for the love song... will you give me pain killers for my wings?" Zephyr asked.

Misa thought for a moment. She knew she wasn't allowed to accept offers from the hostage, but she just wanted light to pay attention to her. And if a love goddess was telling her how to make that happen, she was willing to go behind his back.

"Fine... tell me tonight..."

With that, she left. Zephyr smirked. The chords she'd teach her were actually for a lust evoking ritual. Of course as a fertility goddess, she'd be willing to help Misa through the pregnancy and motherhood. Especially since part of the overarching plan was to get her away from Light, if light refused to help her it might open her eyes. The end goal was to get Misa away from light and catch light. She was willing to help Misa, she knew she was brainwashed. And while she wasn't completely innocent on her own, she was capable of change.

Zephyr would feel bad for essentially manipulating Misa into getting pregnant, but she knew full well that Misa would love to have kids, so that took some of the guilt away since Misa would be happy with a child anyway.

This would buy time, drive a wedge between light and Misa, and crumble lights plan.

Meanwhile, you and L lay in a hotel bed, having boom in Akita for a few days now and still having no sign of Light and Misa. Aphrodite still looking for his life pond, the population in the billions made it a hard job. It was a miracle you found L's that day.

L rested head on your chest and arm around you, wings drooped over the both of you like a blanket. You couldn't stop thinking about what they might have done to zephyr, you knew she was smart, and strong willed. She probably already had a plan. But it was scary knowing how twisted Light was and the possibility he might be torturing her or something.

Lights family probably felt like death. Only his dad knew what was going on. His sister and his mum were of the thought the both of them were just away for work. Someone had to tell them soon, and you had the feeling the Kami would make you and L do it. You couldn't imagine his dad, still not wanting to say his son was kira out loud, would be able to tell them.

You fully expected to have to tell them soon. And even though you had no idea Misa may end up pregnant with his child in a few days, Zephyr knew that if she did that Lights family would at least support her even though Light wouldn't.

You wondered how Light could come from a family of good people and turn out so deranged. His sister was just an innocent teen with dreams of marrying a hoop idol. His mum was just a normal housewife taking care of her family. And his dad was one of the only good cops out there. How can someone like Kira be raised in a wealthy, loving, supportive environment and turn out that way?

Compare that to L who was abused, abandoned, orphaned and ended up the worlds greatest detective brining justice home for so many families and ending up a justice and love deity...

Light had potential, he was smart, he was successful. If he had never been given the chance to kill, he would just gone through out life repressing the urge and died innocent. But the second he was handed that book, the chance that kill, his true intentions jumped out.

He was the definition of wasted potential. It was tragic. How can someone that twisted exist? How can a soul that deranged exist? Then again... without evil, there'd be no such thing as justice, balance, morals. As horrible as it is, evil is needed to make the world go around. But what light was doing was taking too way too far.
